(Poetry) ILIGAN
This is a poem about my hometown, Iligan City. Iligan is a coastal city in the Northern Mindanao and one of the booming cities in the region. But I feel sad nowadays as I see my beloved city not in good shape. Despite all the hampered progress, political turmoil, Iligan is still as beautiful as it has ever been. I didn’t expect to see you
In this quite a crowded place
Where everyone I meet
Hugs and sleeps with rats and crumbs around.
Well, I immediately recognize you
Like you will recognize any blue-blooded fellow
Who was once biting a silver spoon
But by any means, was biting his nails beside the streets.
I remember you seated in your throne
Of rocks in the mountains, and water cascading between them.
Where was that royalty that I saw before?
Seems to be here with me
With spare coins in cans.

I appreciate poetry pero dli nako siya forte. Hehehe so i’ll leave it to the experts about sa pag critic. My thoughts? Well written, makahunahuna na noun kos kahimtang sa iligan sauna nga lambo kaau. Karun, awh padulongay pero kailangan japon ug dout. Unta mahapsay na ang tanan ug wala untay mangurakot hahaha layoa nakog naabtan uy 😂

This is amazing Gil! The falls look incredible. Such a beautiful place that you live in and such an inspiring passion you have to share the beauties of what it can hold through all its diversities.
Yay! I'm happy that you loved it. Do you still need some convincing so you can visit Iligan? Hahaha.
Btw, I'm working with my podcast about the things that I want to do for this year here in steemit. It's just sad that I can't make a vlog like yours. Hopefully soon

A podcast is still a really wonderful project and a great place to start if you eventually want to work towards making vlogs. I'm excited to see what you come up with!

You shouldn't feel that way at all! I know that there can be a bit of uncertainty and vulnerability putting yourself out there but I think Steemit is a really great place to do it if you want to begin. If I can do it, anyone can. 😊

Yes. I knew him/it/her very much. I agree. I wish this tension can be used to fuel positive change in the status quo.

Sakto nga choice! It just reaffirms the Iligan-Marawi relationship :) Marawi needs Iligan, as Iligan needs Marawi. Now that Marawi is impaired Iligan is also in the state of hurt. One needs the other. Btw, politically Iligan and Marawi are twin sisters xD (nganong naka-share man ko ana? hahaha)
