ICELAND ROADTRIP
So this is really my first post about photography or travel. As it happens I get to travel a decent amount for my work, and I've always enjoyed looking for mental "shots" of places I've been and then recording them in some fashion, so I thought I'd start sharing here in our steemit community.
These pics were from a roadtrip I took in Iceland. I was traveling from the North down to Reykjavik. They're fairly minimalist, only using an Samsung S5 and playing with some of the filter settings, barely.
As I was driving it was a constant awesome assault on my senses. I couldn't help but stop multiple times to soak up the beauty of the place and take pictures and video....sometimes trying to get myself killed by doing it while moving because I was just felt compelled to do so. LOL
These first two were on the road just outside of Mývatn, where I was living for several months, on the way to Akureyri Iceland.
I was on the way there to visit a blacksmith and see all the wonderful knives and jewelry he makes. THAT would be a photo essay in itself as I couldn't stop taking pictures of his work....and buying a bunch of it. LOL
Then I was on my way to Reykjavik. This pic wasn't too long after leaving Akureyri, but I couldn't say exactly where as I took photos over the next 6 hours.
I hope my fellow steemians enjoy the photos or locations. I'm still getting the hang of all this, but hope to post more "pics of places" in the future.
I always wanted to visit Iceland and this is something that might happen soon :) Thanks for a text, looking forward to read more about it.
GO THERE, it is an amazing place. If you can, try and coincide your trip when the Northern Lights are going. I was up north when they were blooming and it is bucket list worthy.
It's also a great time as there are amazing deals on flights, depending on where you're coming from. I took my son on a trip when I was done, through Scandinavia and the UK. I got him a flight home with like 5 days advance....Copenhagen to Los Angeles, non stop, $265.00 US.

How long were you there? I love the place and I definitely want to go again. If you get a chance to go again, try and go when the northern lights are running. Mind-boggling.

I HIGHLY recommend it. This is just the tip of the iceberg, pun intended. ;-)
I was amazed at the place, and getting over there isn't anywhere near as expensive as most people think, as long as you're really flexible on your travel....and creative. If you get a chance to go, try and make sure it''s during northern lights season. Seeing the northern lights is literally a bucket list event.
I'm going to throw up more pics from the trip and try to do it at a somewhat steady pace. Just have to tap dance work and life. I have some northern lights pics, just have to find the SD card they're on. I'll try and get them up too.
VISIT THIS PLACE.....you will NEVER regret it.

I'm hoping to have the next roadtrip post out tomorrow, Saturday at the latest, and after that one on the blacksmiths shop I visited.

I'm going through my SD cards to find all the pics, but that whole work & life thing is slowing me up. LOL I know I have a bunch of the blacksmiths armory.
