A visit to a small town in the Western Cape Province!

Harvesting time on the grain farms along the road to Stanford!

We are house hunting and we are visiting small towns in the Western Cape Province of South Africa. The area is extremely pricey and 99% of the places are way above what we can afford, but we continue to search.
Here are some views of our visit today to the small town of Stanford!

This is what they call a "highway" for the tractors between two sections of grain fields!

The long road had an overload of beautiful scenery!

This is Stanford's hotel, built before any of us were about! 1920!

The Stanford Library built in 1925 and it's great to see that the old buildings in the small towns are kept in excellent condition!

And of course, at the center of the town is their flagship stone church.

Most of the small towns in the area were built around their churches. This stems from the old "trekker" days, when they parked their ox wagons at a certain place and decided to build a town on the spot. The first building that they erected was a church and then they planned their towns with a church at the center. I am reminded here of the old saying; "All roads leads to Rome" and in this case "All roads in the town leads to the church"

We hope you have enjoyed the pictures and thank you for visiting a post by @papilloncharity

Thank you kindly my friend. This country is a treasure box of stunning views and I am glad to share the beauty with all! Blessings!

Wow beautiful photograph of farm and hotel..
Nice post my friend..

Thank you my friend and I like to share our travels. Tomorrow we are going out again. Blessings!

Don't think I ever got to visit Stanford. Although I did go to Hermanus so I might have gone through it.

Good luck with the house hunting.

No I don't think you passed through Stanford, as it is not on the way to Hermanus. It's at the other side of Hermanus towards the Bredasdorp side. Thank you for the good luck wishes and we found a promising little seaside town, Betty's Bay, on the internet that we will visit tomorrow (Sunday). They are much cheaper than the other places. Not that we will use our own money and not Papillon's, but we also do not have a fortune saved up and so it's touch and go. Blessings!

How much have your foundation get through steemit this year? Are you also at weku or other platform?

We have not gotten anything, as I am trying to build the amount in our wallet. I listed on weku and saved the password, but when I logged in it wouldn't accept the password and so I deleted it. We are only on Facebook and no other sites! Thank you for your kind help my friend! Blessings!

You try get strong by powerup? And then use your power to get money to your foundation? Like plantatree or I do not know what the name is. A bot where I can get upvotes for paying them. And the plant trees for the money
Why I ask if you where at weku was that I wanted to upvote you. Just tell me if you come there sometime

Looks like such a beautiful area, great shots

The colors of the various plantings like wheat, barley, canola and corn in the fields are simply astonishing.. Some of the lands are harvested, which means they change colors and it's a veritable colorful puzzle of golds, greens, whites, reds and browns. Simply beautiful as it stretches to the horizons. Thank you and blessings to you guys!

Being out in the farmlands make for pretty pictures, old building architecture, a beautiful bygone era, reminder of the paths our forefathers took into this wonderful land.

Hope you find a place to call home soon in the region Stephen.
