Hi Laura, here is a tip and a big tip. You don't need loads of followers to make it big in steemit what you need is guidance. Don't do follow 4 follow because if you want to play this game and do well all those followers are not going to upvote you I promise you.
Post whatever you enjoy posting and the real followers will get to you don't worry. Now what can you do is share your content to steemit.chat, discord steemit servers, facebook groups etc. Just promote your content, and If it's good enough you'll do it. This takes time and dedication of course so, sit tight and enjoy your time here :))
