1000 Moringas - My Favorite Photo of the Moringa Oleifera tree. Personal challenge: 1 vote = 1 tree donated to my local community
Hello. I've been looking for photos of Moringa Oleifera trees for my #1000Moringas challenge.
Before I talk about the challenge, let's talk about the photo.
It's entitled, "Alma de gato na moringa oleífera", by photographer JOÃO ROTO UENIO. This photograph is licensed under Creative Commons 3.0.
"Alma de gato na moringa oleífera" translates to: "Soul of the cat in Moringa Oleifera." Extraordinary title for an extraordinary photo.
Now, about my Moringa challenge. Moringa Oleifera trees are easy to grow perennial trees with nutrient dense, edible leaves, pods, and seeds. I am planting 1000 trees, to donate to schools, senior centers, food banks, Habitat for Humanity, and for a Craigslist good karma giveaway in my community. 1 vote = 1 tree donated.
This is day 4 of my challenge. 10 trees down, 990 to go!
Progress report:
Yesterday I ordered a package of 1000 seeds from Linda at Paisley Farms and Crafts. They are enroute as I write this.
Today I unearthed and dusted off my good camera, charged the batteries, and it's ready to go. My old Fujis have given up the ghost. Instead of using a webcam or purchasing a little $35 camera online, I'm putting on my big girl pants, and I'm going to master this great Sony camera that actually scares me a little bit. I guess my personal challenge has just officially expanded beyond growing Moringa trees.
O.K. I have the camera. I have seeds on the way. I have 10 votes. Looks like I'm on my way!
