Besna Kobila (Angry Mare) - legend about mountain in Southeast Serbia [Photo of the Day #395]
In ancient times, the nomads arrived in this mountain rich in juicy pastures, with their herds of sheep, cows and horses. Soon after they arrive they begin to build their own huts. In that village lived a beautiful girl Feya.
But Feya was also a child of this nature. A powerful girl and an excellent rider, she did not fall behind strong men. Her passions were riding her mare all day.
One day Faye's mare was bitten by a rabies dog. She did not know that, but she saw that her nostrils were mourned with a bloodshot. She rushed into the village, but the mare suddenly changed the direction of movement and rushed towards the mountain.
With a sudden turn, she threw away Feya and continued to go deeper into the mountain. Feya broke her leg on that occasion. People found it unconscious, take her to the cabin and treated her for a long time, but Feya continued to limp until she died.
And, according to this event - village was named the Kriva Fejа (eng: Curved Freya), and the mountain Besna Kobila (eng: Angry Mare).
