Descending adventure from the mountain (Kučke Planine)

in #photocircle5 years ago (edited)

It's been a long time and for sure it has been a long journey to be exact 15.5 thousand kilometers since I last wrote about this mountaineering trip. I did promise you closure - but sometimes, as we all know, life happens.

However about ascending to the top I wrote in my previous posts and promised you a closure. So, back to the top of the mountain.

One of the things I like the most with high altitude mountain-tops (and some lower ones) is 360 degree view, its just magnificent to see all these Earth's monuments stretching in front of you and to the endless distance vanishing on the horizon.

And just cause it is so magnificent view, here are some more photos showing the ruthless and harsh nature and weather conditions - destroying rocks and shaping the world as it wants.

Another thing from 360 degree views.... wherever you look it is a different scenery, every peak has a different story to tell.

Whoever has climbed any mountain/hill knows that reaching the top is only half-"job" done. For us, poor creatures with knee problems and accumulated leg(s) injuries well... rest of the day is pretty shit, but lets not complain - at least not much. We started descending.

Our adventure was circular (we didn't come back using the same path), so... hard way down the mountain sharp rocks, and danger and accidents lurking behind every peak.

Of course - In our team we had a guy who was so irritating and boring with his talks and praises... But as usually there is some cosmic justice, which showed us that mountaineering requires high concentration and not just talking and not watching where you are stepping...

The guy dislocated his knee, and the panic in that moment.. well, it was the first time I experienced that someone gets seriously injured during the hike. Luckily he was able to limp back with support from the group and walking sticks.

After his knee was stabilized and tighten up, we continued our journey...

After some time we approached a glacier, as we were closing in, he was getting bigger and bigger, beneath another massive rocky tower, Sadly I didn't manage to get beautiful shot of shadows/grass/light on these "steps" on that pilon.
However, when we reached the ice... another wonder... :) cold as hell, gathering there for few years never melting.

At this moment i tried adjusting my steps to relief pain in my left knee but that only loads and pressurize the right one.
with every step it was getting harder and harder with hot spots on my feet appearing and starting to form calluses, guess it goes with footwear and not being used for a long time.
Here I tried to capture some fine line between lightness and darkness but my shitty camera can't do that, but Still love this image for all the light dots in the lens.

And finally as the Sun was setting and we found ourselves back on the road, with colorful autumn leaves.

Back to civilization, and rest for the night with wine, friends, laughs and lovers - whatever you "bring" with you. ;)

Looks spectacular...Great post and great photos. I'd love to give it a go but I think these days my knees wouldn't allow it. 😂

It is! Thanks.
I can tell you mine did not - next day was more like limping around the lake :) but, we heal pretty quickly when we dedicate some time to ourselves, I guess. :)

Haha, my knees were never the same after doing the Kokoda Trail.

Looks like my kind of a trip. I love mountains in rock and your photos remind me of Slovakia..

I also prefer to walk up as walking down might be much more challenging because it's bad for the knees. I also suffer from time to time and hate myself for doing it again :D

You've done a great job with the photos and I hope that that guy was quiet for the rest of the trip :D

Good night spaceman! :)

Thanks, I tried to do my best (as always)!
Actually he was a bit quieter but he continued mumbling with his even more irritating friend. :)

Yeah few days you really hate yourself - but then again you are longing to go again - masochism is strong virtue :D

I know what you mean about descending back down. Luckily the stunning scenery at the top makes it that little easier than otherwise would be.

By the way, you have an error in your Steemitworldmap code and your post never got onto the map. It should be the following but without the % on either ends (otherwise it might pin this comment to the map)

%[//]:# (!steemitworldmap 42.574984 lat 19.552407 long Mountaineering trip to Kucke planine descenting d3scr)%

Thanks, I hope it is fixed now, if not I'll grab other pin from the map :)

Yeah scenery at the top always saves the day and enthusiasm, as well as helps with sleep later at night. :)
Other mechanism of coping with bad knees is just rambling with your partner - well talking nonsense, that's what I do - 24/7. :)

Cheers :) Glad you paid a visit to this post :)

Pogled oduzima dah i mogu misliti kako je bilo do vrha i nazad. 😊 Gde se nalazi taj vrh? Fotografije izuzetne, lepota jedna 😊 @svemirac.

Svaka cast pravi si svemirac, predeo je super, slike su fenomenalne. Poozzz

Hvala, živ bio. :)

You should seriously give Kilimanjaro a go if you can, possibly the most epic mountain climb I've ever done.

Definitely thought about it - but time will tell. Right now I have other mountains and hills to climb on the other side of the world :)

Thanks for stopping by.

the scenery was really great, i like this nice view brother

Karma is a b****, I still can't get over the fact that knees hurt during the hike, maybe I am missing something here? 😧 I tend to have shaky legs going down, it is kinda scary and funny at the same time.
The summit is amazing and the snowy lava just wow. Looks insane!

I've mentioned in this post or the previous ones, I have some knee injuries ( 11 years of martial arts and hyperactivity in the childhood are taking its toll now). :)

cheers :)
