How does the beauty industry are making profit out of our self doubt?

After being inactive on Facebook for a month now.. I became more keen on using Instagram in stead. Though.. I really hate it’s endless ads that keep on showing up in my home feed. I became relish on updating my profile about my Zumba class,planting and other activities. Upon adding up the hashtag freesoul for a caption in my photo that I’m about to share in that moment. I became lost to the vast amount of post about the hashtag subject itself. And.. found a new trend that is currently firing up the body shaming world. I discovered the #bodypositive trend. And suddenly it moved my perspective on beauty.
Body positivity is like a married slap, right in the face of people who has a fetish on body shaming men and women.
It doesn’t focus in one gender but in general terms. It’s a brilliant idea that could wipe off all the social norms and standards of being physically attractive of a person.

It was so rewarding to see more people saying positive things about each other rather than tearing each selves in tiny pieces and then throwing them away like they’re a terrible human being just because of their body image or appearance. How shameful it is to be remembered as a bully when you die? All you just leaved are marks of scars on people’s heart. While those people you’ve called in unpleasant words will eventually realized how amazing they are in time.. Then you didn’t get a chance to be in the right side because you’re gone. So... if you want to leave a mark on this life.... Live the provocative and meaningful one! Promote body positivity everywhere like it’s glitters and oxygen as if we can't live without them. Say kind words to strangers, build other people’s confidence up by telling them they were lovely bones and that they don’t have to be like this or like that to feel special and valid for love. Make them appreciate their own uniqueness!

Have you heard that in Japan... when there is a piece of crack on a certain object they appreciate it more because they believe that it adds uniqueness. Therefore it stands out more and become extra valuable. And so are braces.. It’s not a “thing” on their country because having a crooked teeth are always attractive to them. Such a lovely mentality right?

In this reality that always tells us that we are not enough by being just the way we are. The emerging modernity of cosmetic surgery. Those company that sells different products that promises an instant CHANGE when we buy and use whatever they are selling. The billboards that promotes only one type of beauty. Those paid videos on Youtube that tells us to try this and that to cover up our freckles, our acnes, scars.. They are all telling us that we are not OKAY. That we have to hide our true selves and that there are something wrong with us!

It’s bullshit! Why we’re so hypnotized by these people who poured the wrong judgment on us. And it’s disturbing that most people can’t even notice that! We are so blinded of the “idea”. While those people who set the price of beauty... They are making profits out of it! Big money for making us believe on their manipulation.
Wake up people!
We still have time to stop this.

I.. myself was still a victim but I’m on my way out. Making baby steps everyday on telling myself I am enough in front of the mirror. And it changed my views on my appearance, gained confidence more than changing myself too much could ever do. They say... “Accepting yourself for who you are is the first step on loving yourself”. I love that quote. Whoever posted that online... Thank you! And I send my deepest respect to the minds behind #bodypositive trend. We need this trend to never go out of style. This is the mark I am talking about above. The mark that will leave on courageous ways..
