Who's St. Nicholas is this?

I forgot to post this day so this will be my first post today.
The bus-kid spotted this card at school. This picture is for sure not Dutch. Our St. Nicolas does wear this outfit (he is a bishop) but rides on a white horse and does not carry the bag with presents himself. It is his black helper Piet who does. The black helper who is no longer allowed to be black.
Tomorrow is St. Nicholas day in the Netherlands and I try to keep the spirit going.
Since two days I use the woodstove and the smell gave me a bad night rest. I ventlated the entire place where possible for over one hour as I left this morning at 5:25 am on our way to the bus stop. The fog was less as yesterday at 5 pm and it did not freeze. I left the windows open.
The youngest and I killed an hour in the car waiting till it was open. We took blankets with us but nothing to drink. I answered a bit with help of Steemreply.com and the rest as I came back home. I needed to make some room. The stove is in our former living and that living is the youngest's bedroom now. During winter it has to be partly living again. Just two chairs extra to keep warm.
I am happy for the time I can sit here alone. Perhaps two hours after I cleaned up, did the dishes, baking a cake, wrapped some chocolate in paper for the children and wiped the floors (still dirty) and fed the wolves.
A lack of respect is that what we miss most these days?
I think the lack of respect is a world wide problem. I do not know when it started or what caused it. Perhaps envy but governments and media play a big role in it. You are not free to discover and make your own opinion. I stopped watching tv years ago. Year's it over 10, perhaps even 15 years. I seldom listen to the radio (only on a long drive and to stay awake), the last time I read a paper newspaper is even longer ago. If I read headlines the newspapers use these days I feel miserable. The world is a better place without media and people. That is the main reason we seldom visit anyone, stay home and live far away from other people.I do not think the world will change. It will get worse and the attitude is to blame the generation before. For long media, government brainwashed generations baby boomer (born 1945-1955) consume all social help, have all benefits, etc. Now "suddenly" turns out this is not the case at all. So the big mouths who want those who rebuild the country, the economy after the war dead turn out to be the lazy pigs with most benefits themselves. Not that it will change anything since the years of brainwashing already did their job. The same is done with so many things. I can not stand the newspaper who tells for years who to blame and next publish it all made up. The harm is already done and it will not change the attitude. We live to hear the bad news, not the good news. Bad is good for asking for money/taxes, good is not.

I should have post this yesterday but lost the spirit to do so. It is not easy. Writing in notes first, next copy-paste in Partiko check it and copy-paste into @esteemapp. This app is not really user friendly it is so tiny.
NaNoWriMo 27 - Left behind.. Well, once in a while I will post an update. It is not that important and no one waits for the next episode.
Now I forgot about the cake. The oven is a burden. At least it is not burned and it smells nice in house. Better as the smoke from the stove. I think it is getting colder outside.
As you notice I forget more and more about my diary. Perhaps I should not keep it any longer or only write down the post important things? It eats time keeping on writing #forthechildren. 🤔

@marblely St Nicholas is a completely different celebration. More like St Marten and has nothing to do with Christmas. Nicholas gave to the poor, money included. Later it became more a celebration for children.
We have Christmas like the rest of the world but Santa Claus is not a habit here. Christmas is a tree, food, going to church mainly although more people start celebrating it with presents. ❤️
