As one of the 6 judges, and as an original artist also, I aim to represent the best original artists in this contest from our wonderful Steemit community. I am keeping my ears open for cover artists as well, don't worry but creating an original song is indeed impressive, especially if executed and performed well. We have surely missed you during your hiatus in joining us in our Open Mic Family. Welcome back without a doubt, and you have made your return with quite a beautiful and profoundly moving original that was worth the wait. You have always had a knack and talent for songwriting and performing, and your choruses are embedded in the listeners mind, planting a seed of admiration that just grows over time. Even to this day, I still have "Lion In My Closet" prowling around in my thoughts throughout the most spontaneous moments of day to day life. "Did You Want It Too" is another one for the books, and thank you very much for sharing this gem. 2. @drewley's "New York State Of Mind Feat. @Christinasings" By Billy Joel Cover Song

I really enjoyed this jazzy smooth cover of this great song choice. You both gave a harmonious and impressive performance this week. I gave this entry several play throughs and the chemistry was tangible this week. I even visited an original live performance of Billy Joel and without a doubt he too, would enjoy your wonderful piano playing and intertwining vocals riveting full of gracious sounds. This was a musical treat for the ears this week and a great cover song you have chosen and performed. You have revealed some very deep lyrics that reflect a sombre longing for a lost loved one and the poetry imagery are made real with your wonderfully seamless singing, displaying your capable wide range and passionate intensity to convey conviction and true emotion to this piece. Songs like these are what help us realize the greatness we are all capable of. Time is limited and every day is precious and we can always improve the way we love and treat one another in this fleeting life and this bitterly, brisk cold world. I really admire impacting songs such as this one, that make a difference and leave a lingering sense of self reflection and deep contemplation for the bigger picture of knowing our true purpose and existence, which is love. For without love, what is anything worth? You played well and poured out your heart out in this performance, definitely worthy of praise and recognition. 5. @sketch.and.jam's "Doumbek, Kalimba & Sitar Jam" Original Song

This was an easy choice for my top picks. I truly love the sounds of the Sitar and that alone, with how well you played it, as well as, your other layered instruments, is what made all this such an enjoyable, and serenity-laced entry. You produced such welcoming and relaxing vibes to ponder to and be enveloped in the good frequencies, positive vibrations and ambient energies.
