Steemit Openmic Songwriters Challenge-Week8-Original Song-Til' We Meet Again
Another one take wonder, as my voice is still barely alive. But it went okay so I think you can get the vibe...
What can I say, this whole challenge has been quite an experience!
Of course many many thanks to @meno and @luzcypher as well as judges @passion-ground and @krystle for their hard work and endless encouragement.
If you said to me that I had to write a song every week, on someone else's schedule, and someone else's theme, I would say "I can't do that !"...I don't think I have even written eight songs in a year before. Also I can't usually try to write about something, the song has to come of its own volition.
I realize now that "I" can't write a song every week as I said above.; these songs seem to happen as "downloads" through some miracle of God's will and your inspiration.
It's similar to a time in my life when I was reading the Astro Logos for people; I would always say to myself five minutes beforehand "What the hell am I going to say to this person, I have nothing!"...and then somehow the miracle would happen.
This has been the same, every single week I would look at the theme and say" I've got nothing! I can't do it!" and then the download would begin.
Having said that, just as it was a song title that I saw on @davidfar 's blog that inspired my entry for "Because We Can"/ Week 4, this week it was @basilmarples and his moving performance for "Wind Swept Shore"/Week 5.

I dunno, man - as soon as you hit those first few chords I couldn't help but choke up some.
What a fine way to end this 8-week stretch of creativity and camaraderie. You rocked it once again, brother - just like you always do!

Ahhh - And therein lays the distinguished realm between "peace" and "grease" - Love is indeed what makes the world go round for the majority of us... There's no place I'd rather be immersed rather than within the realm of "love" - and passion, of course... :-)
Man Did you realize that you just expressed, in part, the archetype of chiron..."peace" or the Ground or Outer realm, and "grease" or the mundane, "fatty" manifest creation. You are the channel man!
I had no clue - but I'll tell you this - I trust your insights in such matters like no other.

Somehow I feel part of the process of songwriting, is letting go of the aim to write a song and just really giving up. To surrender completely so it can come.
I was just thinking about this...I hope this isn't too esoteric but I was thinking about human creativity and the archetype of Chiron. In terms of the solar system Chiron's orbit takes it both inside and outside the orbit of Saturn. The human being is "half monkey, half angel" as McKenna would say. So the human being has access to the realm of the larger forces in which we are embedded, through the imagination,inspiration,etc. . But also acts as a bridge or go-between to the more mundane reality. So we can have an idea and actually bring it into reality, and also be the vehicle for an expression that has its source outside of the self.
Anyway I don't want to bore you but yes, I agree and I am always re-learning that the well will never run dry .

Thanks for the compliment..you know I keep running into synchronicity here on Steemit. I was actually thinking of Cat Stevens after the song was written and I had some separation from it. Not that I would place myself with him, but just a vibe. Last week I heard Dan Fogelberg's voice in my head after that one was done.

I was shocked that I made it through that take...I had tried to record it the day before but my voice broke down half way through...I ended up changing the notes I sang and left out some higher notes so it wasn't exactly as I hear it in my head...but thanks!
wow trubro. I am so honoured. Thankyou so much for this, it is an indescribable feeling. I can't tell you what it means to have inspired you, but also to have been received by you, and to have the energy bounced back in such a generous and soulful way. So often our difficult energies, our anger, frustration, sadness and everything else just sort of get absorbed by the cosmos or something without feedback, sometimes its a lonely feeling but I can honestly say that this feels like true connection. True relation. Family. Friendship. The confirmation that we are all out here, in our little pockets of existence, feeling deeply, needing to connect, to create, and to receive and to listen and without always knowing how. Somehow this community is providing a new answer to some of these previously unrequited abstract needs, and I would like to thankyou for being such a wonderful part of that. If what I am about to say does not resonate as true for you please put it aside. Normally I would only speak of these things in a private one-on-one situation and with permission. This song is indeed from me to you, but my experience of it was as a "go-between" to deliver a message from someone else. I wept like a baby the whole time as it came through...isn't life mysterious and beautiful?
