OpenBazaar using Steem within App
Lead developer on OpenBazaar and CEO of OB1 tweeted out tonight an image of Shapeshift being directly integrated into OpenBazaar. With the amount of artists both visually, musically, crafts, or otherwise, right here on Steemit, this could help grow the value of Steem quite a bit.
I know that some Steemit users, including myself, have listings on Peerhub that has the ability to take Steem. With OpenBazaar having an established market of users that are spending Bitcoin, and you having the ability to take Steem using Shapeshift already, by selling your goods on a market that is taking any digital coin and having it transferred into Steem at the point of sale, you have now made the value of Steem rise in a very direct way.
OpenBazaar is a decentralized established market that is continuing to grow, there is stores participating in #BitcoinBlackFriday right now, including a fantastic one here on Steemit that is giving away comic books ;) There is something to be said about all you using Steemit based on this great blockchain technology, understand that is what OpenBazaar is built on. TOR integration is also coming very soon, paving the way for any of you to sell any goods you wish using any alt coin you wish including Steem, and it not being able to be shut down like a web site, as well as knowing there is no censorship of what you sell.
Bitsquare and OpenBazaar are going to be some of the leading applications of cryptocurrencies just based on not being limiting to Bitcoin only, this will be the future of the alt coins, some kind of unity in the tools we are all using.

I couldn't believe the tweet when I seen it, seems like it could be huge for so many Steemit users being great artists in so many fields that would open up their ability to sell their goods and grow the Steem economy.
You are absolutely right in saying that. Being a fan of open bazaar since inception, I have an idea of the volumes there and this is good news for steem, indeed!

Awesome. I may give them a try again. I could not sell anything with just bitcoin, and having to keep up with the server store thing shutting / down was a drag. But it still was cool.
They got this thing with this IPFS technology coming to ensure all stores are online all the time https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/openbazaar-integrating-interplanetary-file-system-to-help-keep-stores-open-longer-1460660998 . I have a store running 24/7 on a VPS, but I know not everyone knows how to do that, nor should they! I almost wish the OpenBazaar devs would have had the TOR integration and online all the time right from the start, but I understand like all these great projects, we get to kind of grow with them. Just like Bitcoin itself, Steemit itself, really great technologies that we see this improvements as we use them.
I wonder how many Steemit users here remember having red envelopes with dvds going in their mailbox and that was awesome enough, now I need my Netflix to actually be the production team behind some of my favorite movies and shows and btw have it streaming on my phone lol.

Since my time on Steemit I have seen a lot of users leave or complain about the value of Steem itself. With Shapeshift, any alt coin could easily use this opportunity to use OpenBazaar with their coin of choice, but Steem is a special case as there is an already great established community that I see growing. I see some using Peerhub and even have an account there myself, but something like OpenBazaar just opens the gates to new money being brought into Steem rather than just Steem users spending Steem with other Steem users, OpenBazaar could bring in growth.
