Here is looking at you - the all-seeing eye - detail

“Instead, I opened my eyes to find the thing in front of my face, wafting dead horse breath across my chin and up my nose, its mouth like a gaping maw; its eyes, two giant wormholes, twisting and bending with some apparitional substance that could have been space and time if I’d known anything about physics.” ― Shannon Celebi, 1:32 P.M.

I had been asked several times about process shots. Unfortunately, at the times I created these works I did not think of it. Even now I find it difficult to do so. Let me explain. I either forget, or for a better explanation I can only offer this:

Creating art the way I do is much like a 100 meter dash. You don't stop every few steps just to take a selfie! That way you lose the race. In creating art, you lose the concentration to follow through - at least that is what's happening with me.

At years end, prominent Arizona artist Steven DaLuz featured this drawing on his Facebook page in an album:

Steven said this about it:
This album contains my personal picks of those drawings I connected with the most in 2018.

Some Merchandise on my Pixels site:

The Beginning of the Journey

Many years before I created these drawings, I had a small painting (the original photo of it is lost) from my student days. I played with it some time later in Photoshop and created this digital image:

eye2-rotate-web1600.jpg
EYE OF NIBIRU - acrylic painting and digital art, early eighties

It stuck with me, particularly the stories about Nibiru or Planet X that some pseudo-scientific theorists would have us believe will come and destroy us all:
Nibiru: How the nonsense Planet X Armageddon and Nasa fake news theories spread globally

Nibiru conspiracy theories about the end of the world have been circulating online for more than two decades, with the latest dubious prophecy predicting the apocalypse - September 23, 2017.

Well, we are all still here!

Is Planet X a conspiracy theory or an apocalyptic event?

Anyway, as a artist and SF fan, I am having fun creating such images. While maybe not real in this world, they do exist in my "Inner Universe", you know, the stuff that swirls around in my brain. So is it any wonder I dont find the time to record process steps (see explanation above).

Thank you - glad you like it.

My pleasure @thermoplastic Your art is amazing!

Editing on Steemit to add more detail, quotes and text - can't do that on nTopaz!

No prob ;)

Although you can also open two browser tabs, one with nTOPAZ and another with steemit/busy
Start uploading your preview pics with nTOPAZ and then write and format your post in the steemit/busy tab, once you finish and look at the preview copy all the formatted post and paste it into the nTOPAZ box.

That way you have your post nicely formatted for most STEEM platforms and don't need to edit it later.
That's what I do all the time hehe.

Again Awesome artwork Otto!! 👏👏👏 🎨💎

Thanks, but have you actually tried that lately? I had a frustrating experience just posting the minimum (image, title and description). Why? Because I copy/pasted the description text. Any copy/paste is impossible - if you do, it does not upload. There are a bunch of unanswered complaints in the bug report on the Discord channel with peeps having the same problem, but I eventually figured it out myself. You can't even copy/paste your own tags!

I posted a couple of hours ago and all seemed fine, sure the post in nTOPAZ wont look as it does in steemit/busy but is readable enough.

About tags, yes they cannot be copied because of how nTopaz puts them, you have to write 1 tag and then press enter to add the next one...I agree it would be better if it was a simple text box that reads each tag separated by a space or colon.

strange really, never mind the tags, I figured that out, but I copied and pasted them individually. I did not try your method of copy/past from stemmit/busy edit, but copy paste from my own sources (i.e. the file info from my photos)- I have all the info stored in the file info on the photos and/or I copy from my other pages on my website or f.ex. deviantArt or else from text files on the subject. That does not work. But there is nothing on nTopaz that says you cannot copy and past, but you have to painstakingly type all the stuff in.

I had kids screaming ILLUMINATI CONFIRMED upon sighting this (seems to be some kind of meme which is one of many things I don’t keep up with 🤣)

It makes an awesome phone case!

I totally get you on not being able to take process pics. All my “process pics” basically involve me removing layers, I can’t stop either. Fortunately being only a digital artist I can screen record if I really want to. Perhaps if you can be bothered you can set up a camera above where you normally draw?

@ryivhnn
the pyramid with the all-seeing eye on top - the Eye of Providence - and about the Illuminati -
but none of this entered my mind when I drew this, at least not consciously. But since I am frequently influenced by my subconscious mind, maybe ..........

and yes, I thought of the camera set-up. Maybe next time, if I think about it.
The stuff with the layers sounds good - on my digital stuff I would need to save the PS file to to that. I actually went through that process making a video from stills, with layers at different opacities.

This reminds of of the horror manga Junji Ito created called Hellstar Remina. The cosmic horror and the resemblance to this piece has strong similarities.

I am not familiar with that, but should look it up. I am also a fan of Lovecraft, and had done drawings inspired by the Cthulhu Mythos.

Amazing as always Otto!Hopefully we will meet again soon. We have a lot to catch up actually.

Thank you, yes, it's been a while. Thursday I am in Germany attending the opening of an exhibition I am in, returning next Monday. You probably seen my msg on discord.

It's really amazing your work @thermoplastic, I like it! ;)

thanks - and thank you also for consistently commenting on my work. I appreciate that.
