INTOBER Day #11 "SNOW"
Today is a day of drawing a lot, I'm more than late in the Inktober, and I'm always promising that I'll catch up, but I haven't fulfilled that. But today I have planned to make three drawings, in fact I already have sketches, this is the first of three, now it is your task to be attentive to the next two.
Day 11 "snow" for today I have made a monster of points, not the abominable snowman, but rather a monstrous snowman, surely made by some lady of the dark arts, remember that we are in the month of witches.
Tools:
- Opaline Cardboard (A4)
- HB Graphite Pencil
- Black ballpoint pen
- Marker Black thick tip
-Step 1:
As usual, with the HB pencil sketch my idea.
-Step 2:
Then I outlined the sketch, but only to the monster, the trees still did not want to touch them.
-Step 3:
Did I tell you that I love pointillism? A few days ago I tried it and I loved it, so I started using it on this monster. It's supposed to be snow, so try to make few stitches to not darken it too much.
-Step 4:
In the trees if I used many points, all in order to contrast the needles of the pines with the snow that covers them, this is supposed to be a quick drawing, but to make these two trees I take much more than the rest of the drawing. As a final touch, I added a black semi-circle to the background, looking for a nocturnal atmosphere and even more divergence with the snow.
I'll leave you a little gif with the whole process in it, so you can better appreciate the step by step.
What is inktober?
The inktober is an initiative created by the illustrator Jake Parker in 2009, in order to improve his artistic skills, although over the years has made a great impact on the international artistic community. The challenge is to make a drawing with ink every day, hence its name, "ink" (ink) "tober" (October), although for the most part this is respected, many other artists prefer to stay in their comfort zone, so you can see illustrations made with watercolors, graphite, charcoal, digital and any existing technique.
