INKTOBER Day #10 "PATTERN"
Goodbye dots, hello stripes, well not like that either, but I tried a new technique and liked it, although it requires more precision and a lot of time. For day #10 of the Inktober I bring you a little drawing made with a pattern of strokes, following the idea for this day "pattern".
Tools:
- Opaline Cardboard (A4)
- Ruler
- Black ballpoint pen
- Marker Black thick tip
-Step 1:
With the HB Pencil sketch the silhouette of a girl's face, once the sketch is finished, take the ruler and create a grid with squares of 2x2 cm each.
-Step 2:
This time there is no delineation, I went directly to make stripes, all in a diagonal direction, but alternating their layout from square to square.
-Step 3:
The shading was done by completing the pattern with all the paintings on the left, but when you reach the silhouette of the face, respect the limits you had drawn, in order to obtain a kind of light-dark based on stripes.
-Step 4:
There was a great damage there, I shaken the marker strongly and when trying to correct a line, the marker expelled a lot of ink and left a large drop in the middle of the drawing :c, but well, errors occur, as in some squares where I made the strokes in the wrong direction XD. To avoid having many empty spaces, in the areas of the hat, hair and clothing use the same pattern as always, but this time with the ballpoint pen black.
PS: If I keep doing complicated things I will never finish on time :'c.
PS2: I don't sign with the marker again.
I'll leave you a little gif with the whole process in it, so you can better appreciate the step by step.
What is inktober?
The inktober is an initiative created by the illustrator Jake Parker in 2009, in order to improve his artistic skills, although over the years has made a great impact on the international artistic community. The challenge is to make a drawing with ink every day, hence its name, "ink" (ink) "tober" (October), although for the most part this is respected, many other artists prefer to stay in their comfort zone, so you can see illustrations made with watercolors, graphite, charcoal, digital and any existing technique.
