INKTOBER Day #8 "FRAIL"

At this rate I'll never be able to catch up.

It's currently the 14th day of Inktober, but I'm barely on the 8th day, how slow! Although I have to admit that maybe this is my most beautiful job of the last days; I definitely fell in love with pointillism.

The theme for this day is "frail", so I wanted to represent how brittle the human body can be, despite resisting many things, unfortunately it always yields to some infectious agent or simply to the passage of time. Take care of your health.

Tools:

  • Opaline Cardboard (A4)
  • Black ballpoint pen
  • Marker Black thick tip

-Step 1:

As usual, with an HB pencil quickly sketch my idea, then observe it better and see that were totally disproportionate both sides of the ribs, so I erased and I did it more calmly.

-Step 2:

With the ballpoint pen, I made the total outline of the drawing, although I was lazy delineating the bottom, it was a big decision.

-Step 3:

This is where magic and patience begin. I don't want to imagine the amount of points I made, because they were infinite, one of the things I had to be more careful with, was making only points, that's right, because sometimes some ended up being small stripes and it's supposed to be pointillism, not morse key.

-Step 4:

The trick to achieve a little volume or shading with dots, is obviously to make more dots, if you want to try you must stop, observe your drawing, then make many dots and stop again to observe what you've done simple right?

I'll leave you a little gif with the whole process in it, so you can better appreciate the step by step.

What is inktober?

The inktober is an initiative created by the illustrator Jake Parker in 2009, in order to improve his artistic skills, although over the years has made a great impact on the international artistic community. The challenge is to make a drawing with ink every day, hence its name, "ink" (ink) "tober" (October), although for the most part this is respected, many other artists prefer to stay in their comfort zone, so you can see illustrations made with watercolors, graphite, charcoal, digital and any existing technique.

This is so cool, I really love the technique but it is so time consuming. I admire you for doing this. The result is so cool and worthy. 👍
