The Competition
I stumbled upon a competition called 'Share The STEEM Love Competition', which is organized with the same intention we all have.
Part of my mission is to #stsl - Share the STEEM Love - is to run these competitions to help those Steemians who may be new to the platform, or maybe have even been around for a while, and are adding great value to their community and posting great content
The contest involves nominating someone and getting people to support your nomination.
The prize includes the SBD generated from the contest post and 60 days of upvotes for the nominated Steemian.
The Goal
To be honest, I'm not writing this post because of the contest prize...
I'm writing this post because of the opportunity to show who we are.
This is a good opportunity to put the #newbieresteemday initiative in the spotlights, by showing how strong we are when we work together. This will allow the initiative to grow further, and to become known by others.
The Action
I've nominated the #newbieresteemday initiative, but because the "official" account @newbieresteemday has no real posts, only resteems, I've put up @davemccoy's name as a representative.
Let's spread the word about the #newbieresteemday initiative and show SteemIt who we are.

I’m a tad late in getting to this but hopefully we can get enough votes. I saw some of the names doing the nomination and know one for sure has been accused of cheating with voting bots before. Lol, I am so with you both @amariespeaks and @simplymike. I was happily (I think) minding my own business wandering the Steemit universe until Dave reached out and planted a seed in my mind about joining this community. I said no at first. Politely of course. I’m not much of a ‘community’ type myself, very private with my musings. But here I am and here we all are!

That line just so cracks me up. I thought the EXACT same thing when I found out how to use it. Guess what? I haven't been over 95% in over a month. Asher just delegated steem to me, so now I don't need to remember to remove the "z" then put the "z" back, or futz with it when It just won't work, I'm trying, honestly I am trying so hard to rebuild and get back to at least 90%, so far it just ain't happening. But I am going very slow on voting for the next several hours, at about 73% as I sit and try try so hard not to click "Vote". Thank you.
You know the saying, 'the road to hell is paved with good intentions'...feel free to butcher it though haha And as you know, I let mine go way too low so I'm commenting today and probably tomorrow too, but unfortunately I'm not upvoting...not on comments anyway...perhaps I'll allow myself a couple of posts to upvote :)
