Is Steemit Fair to all its members : Minnows , Dolphins and Whales ?

in #new7 years ago (edited)

Many members are whining behind the scene due to only few people (the same cycle gang) consistently making it to the trending page - some even post more than 5 times daily as indicated by @berniesanders thus leaving minnows and newbies to resign to fate and turn to their only saviors : bot. Love @berniesanders or hate him, he is one of the few whales that take the bull on the horns and challenge the system.
Here are some few point:

Let’s give hope to Newbies and Minnows: Newbies and minnows are part of this great community and thus need to be happy in order for steemit platform to continue growing. Therefore, more support in form of whale votes should be channeled to new members who produce great contents- in order to motive them to continue adding value on steemit platform.

Stop the attack: I have seen attacks towards members (minnows and newbies) because of their use of upvote bots. Funny thing is that these attacks are mostly from established whales and dolphins who have a large vote sharing gangs and thus never need the services of @booster , @minnowbooster or @randowhale. Minnows and newbies, on the other hand, do not have such recognition and thus their posts got lost in the blockchain. This led to the rush to using upvote bots which gives their work some recognition (even though there are limitations to the bots and its usage).

Quality contents: yes , not only established steemians do write quality posts, many newbies and minnows are top writers and should be supported. The great thing with steemit , however, is that the platform do have community of writers that supports all (new and established members) including great competitions from My dear wild man @papa-pepper and other steemians that support all authors examples @aggroed , @lukestokes , @timcliff , @fulltimegeek and @slowwalker (to mention just a few).

Now is your turn: do you agree that newbies and minnows need more support here? Send in your comments - upvote to send in your support and resteem in order for your contacts to join the discussion.

Great post and I think for steemit to succeed further, we need to spread more.love to newbies and minnows. Thanks for sharing this upped

In the long run: Either the trending pages offer the best content COMPARED TO THE REST OF THE WEB. Otherwise: The will be another Steemit 2.0 and Steemit 1.0 will make the Altavista.

Web marketing, that is what they called it in 2008. Like a spiders web you have to spend time reading and finding out as much as you are able.

Where do you go for direction? The whales, some excellent content from a year ago to help you on your way. (Google is your friend) Use the search here in Steemit there are many articles to read.

Web marketing as I recall Mike Filsaime coined the term and explained how you have to start building your platform, so it does not take one or two pieces of good content, it takes time.

Once you have original content you find Communities approach you to join, my advice is join. Once within communities you find more people assisting you as you help them sharing in knowledge.

Keep true to yourself and your passion, people will slowly find you. Each platform has it's up's and downs.

well analysed...Upped..Thanks for your comment

Thanks for the info. I appreciate it.

I think steemit can use a quick fix. I've been here for 7 months and something now and my earnings are starting to get somewhere. But I wouldn't have gotten here without the support of others really.

I agree with the post and you as well i have seen posts outside of this site , that comment on the age of the account overtime they see more. It makes me wonder if not worrying about the $$$ is better and creating quality content may be better to focus on i post to d-tube and also on the site in blog form but as a new users i still do not understand the site as a whole. I have not found any solid information just sales videos telling me to buy their course.....

Welcome to steemit and see my older posts for tips on how to be a success here including this my blog post https://steemit.com/steemit/@charles1/stop-whining-here-are-way-to-improve-your-earnings-on-steemit

Good point, you are doing really great my friend...keep up the good work and yes we will never succeed without the help of some good whales and dolphines

I'm the same way @vangelov! My earnings are finally starting to rise up a bit and I'm ever so slowly gaining more and more followers. Best of luck to you!

Good luck and more success. Guess its more fun now isnt it?

Thanks for the support brother <3 all the best of wishes right back at you :)

#support and #following seems to be very key, along with quality content of course! Glad to be apart of the growing cycle. Gotta understand the rewards system etc a little bit better, and how to delegate etc..

Ja, charles1. Nicht, dass ich nur eine Sekunde daran gezweifelt hätte: Du bist ein wahrer Stratege :). Freut mich zu sehen, dass Du hier richtig Fuß gefasst hast. Weiter so :)

Vielen Danke...Kommst du für Gluehwein?

Klar :D. Welcher Weihn.-Markt, welcher Glühweinstand, in welcher Stadt :D? Wenn es weiter weg ist, muss es dort schon guten Schlehen-Fruchtglühwein aus heimischen Früchten geben :).

Frohe Weihnachten :)

Steemit’s success will be proportional to how easily new people learn and earn in the community.

Good point my friend..I agree

Nowadays I'm not as frequent on posting as I would like. And honestly I don't feel that whales are unsupportive (probably because I'm here for few months now). I feel like patience, hardworking and engaging with the community are key words to persist here. And with time I guess the "big ones" will end up noticing us... (btw, upvoted and resteemed!)

Good point, I agree..keep steeming to more success

While I am very new to Steemit (16 days old), I have been blogging for about 7 months. No matter what forum you share your content on, in the beginning it always get lost and gaining traction is hard.

For good to great results consistency is key no matter what you are doing, Steemit is no different. At this stage I am personally against using bots but to be quite frank I just don't know enough about them, so that may change in the future if traction can't be found from what I hope is quality work.

I hope someone finds my latest and first ever post on my take on our Crypto adventure to date.

Good point, I wish you success and see my older posts for tips on how to be a success here...checked your post..upped.

Thanks for checking out my post. Ill have a look though your older posts too.

welcome and more suucess

I found getting established on steemit is easier than getting established on other social media like youtube and twitter. Although I am still not much well stabilized but I guess my progress is good.

Yes, patience , hardwork , relationship and good contents are needed isnt it?

Yes my friend being active in this community helps a lot !

Good point, upped.
