Learn How To Knit A Flower With @sweetpea (Original Video Tutorial Included)
Are you feeling a tad crafty? I hope so! Today I am quite excited to teach you how to knit your very own flowers! These flowers are absolutely gorgeous and can be used as embellishments on almost anything! You can make hair clips with them, glue them on to plain shoes to spruce them up, add them to gloves and beanies or you can even use them to make a knitted flower bouquet!
These sweet little knits are super quick to make and you will only need basic knitting skills to make them. You will need to know how to cast on and off, do a purl row, a knit row, a yarn forward (which I will demonstrate in a video below) and a slip stitch.
Before we begin, make sure you have the following materials:
- Yarn
- Two needles
- Scissors
- A thick sewing needle
Learn How To Knit A Flower with Learning To Knit With @sweetpea
Step 1: Cast on 50 stitches.
Step 2: Purl your first row.
Step 3: Knit your first stitch, and then move it back on to your left needle. Slip 9 stitches over this knitted stitch. Knit into this knitted stitch again, but before slipping it off, perform a Yarn Forward (YF) – making three stitches out of one. I have added a video below that demonstrates this step.
Step 4: Knit the next row.
Step 5: Snip off your working yarn, leaving at least 20cm to work with.
Step 6: Thread this working yarn and thread it through your remaining stitches, removing the stitches off of the knitting needle as you do so.
Step 7: Pull your working yarn tight. You will now see your flower has formed.
Step 8: Sew into your yarn, shaping your flower further, before forming a secure knot and sewing in loose threads.
And there you have it! A petit little flower made by your very own hands! Once you get into the swing of things, your be making one of these every 10 minutes, that’s how quick and easy they are to make! Create a stash of flowers that you can pull out any time you need to put together a gift for someone, or perhaps you need to cover up a hole in one of your shirts or jerseys!

I've not tried to knit anything for a long while. I always remember being better at knit, than pearl, but you have inspired me to try again with this little project. I also have attempted finger knitting recently. Time to get the crafting back on, as its nice to add that homemade touch.
