NeedleWorkMonday Featured Posts #24
Welcome to @needleworkmonday’s Featured Posts #24! This is a weekly Curation showcasing the needlework of our very own Steemians!
Every Monday we get together to share our love and passion for the needle arts using the #needleworkmonday tag. We enjoy each other’s creations, ideas, patterns, tips and shortcuts.
We strive to bring to you great quality work filled with tutorials and inspiration. Please help us keep these wonderful needle arts alive and thriving by supporting our work and community.
Let's dive right to it...
Needlework Monday – Knitting with five knitting needles by @tali72
When @tali72 showed us her work in progress leggings a couple of weeks back, they looked like deliciously yummy layers of chocolate brownie cake and cheese with special fruity jelly pops in between. In this post, she showed us her completed project and how she used five needles to knit the leggings. She also includes useful tips on getting them right. Pop by her post to read more!
NeedleWorkMonday - Crochet with CroSheille Episode #5 by @crosheille
Are you learning to crochet or wanting to learn how to crochet but do not know where to begin? Our very own #NeedleWorkMonday's founder has prepared for us a series of tutorial for beginners and this week's episode guides us through the very first project on how we can crochet our very own bookmark! Head on over to her post to learn more and she also included links to her previous tutorials that will come in handy too.
#needleworkmonday - swatchtaping :) by @shanibeer
Swatches are important before beginning a project, in finding the right numbers for a good garment fit but most times, even with swatches, the sizes do not come out right which can be frustrating. @shanibeer shares with us her experience of a different approach to swatches by making swatchtapes for a better garment fit and she includes the link of a video tutorial that she follows. She is enjoying "finding her numbers" which we can all learn for ourselves too! She also includes tables that help to calculate quantity of yarn for any project and type of yarn.
January 14 2019 [EN/JP]Needlework Monday/A book cover has been completed! by @aitommylr
@aitommylr's book cover project was featured in last week's post and this week, she made it back here with her completed book cover. Last week, she showed us how she has beautifully embroidered a rustic tree and this week, she shared with us her carefully embroidered leaves and flowers. She brings us through in detail, the remaining steps and her beautifully shot photos are an inspiration. One thing's for sure, once your book has this adorable book cover on, you will not want to leave your book behind.
Thank you for stopping by to view our featured posts for this week! Please stop by their posts and show them some love with a read and an upvote for sharing their handmade creations! To see more needle arts please check out the #NeedleWorkMonday tag and check back here with @NeedleWorkMonday every Wednesday for the weekly Resteems and Curation posts!!

I've known this community because of @akipponn, and everyone's work looks super cool... I love needlework but don't do it so much in these years... but I wish I would join your community some day. Thank you very much for sharing about this great contest :D
@yoyo-jp Thank you for your comment!
That book cover looks really lovely and beautifully finished - well worth a feature!
It is beautiful, isn't it? It looks really kawaii!

My pleasure @shanibeer! You are one of the great needleworkers for sure :) Thank you for sharing an informative and useful post! I am going to take swatching with swatchtaping more seriously now :)
You choose some good projects to highlight! Love them all!

Thank you @crosheille! It is a great effort to come up with tutorials and I just had to feature you :) Hehe and yes, her work looks very delicious because it is one of my favourite desserts (the chocolate and cheese layers).

Hi @crosheille and needleworkmonday-ers :) I shared this post in the @c-squared Discord's #curation-compilations channel. I believe I have invited y'all in the past but I want to extend another invitation - link to the Discord is in the @c-squared comment on this post - I would love to see someone (or more than one!) from this community ask for the "curator" role in the C² Discord and start bringing in some of the awesome posts that come out every week for needleworkmonday. C² is an open community for curators, the main rule is no self promotion (so the focus is on curated posts, meaning you can bring in posts by other authors). That being said, we also have the #curation-compilations channel where you can drop off curation posts like this one I am commenting on - in that channel you can actually drop posts even if you authored them, as long as they are a curation post.
I hope to see some of y'all there! Much love - Carl
Hello @carlgnash! Thank you so much for the invitation! I apologize if I overlooked your previous invite. I like what c-squared is doing and the support it gives. I definitely accept the invitation! I will peek in soon at your discord server and start sharing the links to our curation posts! Thanks so much again : D
