NeedleWorkMonday Featured Post #9
Hello everyone! Welcome to @needleworkmonday’s Featured Posts #9!! This is a weekly Curation showcasing the needlework of our very own Steemians! Every Monday we get together to share our love and passion for the needle arts using the #needleworkmonday tag. We enjoy each other’s creations, ideas, patterns, tips and shortcuts.
We strive to bring to you great quality work filled with tutorials and inspiration. Please help us keep these wonderful needle arts alive and thriving by supporting our work and community.
This is week 2 of our ’Upcycle Challenge’. We had three entries and they are all included in today’s feature...
Baby room shoe / 子どもの室内ばき by @akipponn
There are several ways to upcycle. In this post @akipponn uses fabric scraps from her upholstered sofa to make her daughter this adorable pair of room shoes for daycare. She shows us how she made a basic pattern from her old shoe and designs it into this Japanese traditional shoe. It’s amazing how much we can do using existing materials rather than extracting new ones.
#NEEDLEWORKMONDAY UPCYCLE CHALLANGE MY ENTRY @needleworkmonday by @brittandjosie
Talk about some cute fashion, @brittandjosie shows us how to achieve it! She takes her already lovely jacket and refashions it into this stylish look using elastic and patches. It’s an idea that can be used with other garments as well. Head on over to see exactly how she achieved this look!
Plastic upcycled by @tahiaarq
@tahiaarq often inspires us with ways to upcycle plastic! She’s done it again! Watch how she takes plastic food bags and turns them into this cute little functional purse. This would be great to hold those small important items you have around the house or to keep up with your belongings while on the go.
Thank you for stopping by to view our featured posts for this week! Please stop by their posts and show them some love with a read and an upvote for sharing their handmade creations! To see more needle arts please check out the #NeedleWorkMonday tag and check back here with @NeedleWorkMonday for the weekly Resteems and Curation posts!!

I have recently (within this current year) picked up my embroidery again. I've been searching for a way to really keep myself practicing regularly...this is just the ticket! I'm so happy to start using the tag! Thanks for forming this community!

Thank you for featuring my experiment @needleworkmonday :) Happy to see the photo again on this post. Actually I didn't think about entering the challenge. I just grab the fabric from my leftover fabric box, which I often do.
