#needleworkmonday :: My 2019

2019 - A year of triumphs, of failures and of neutrality...
... pretty much like any year I think.
And I am here to write about my #needlework projects in 2019, specifically for @needleworkmonday's Year End Review Challenge.

My crafting year 2019

My favourites, it was hard to choose but I am pretty proud of these babies.

🌈🎨 Saving my stained canvas shoes 👟

I saved my favourite canvas shoes from brown stains by embroidering purple flowers on it and I am pretty proud of them whenever I wear them:

My entry in commemmorating #NeedleWorkMonday's 2 Year Anniversary!

My sole crosstitch project this year and it was to commemorate #NeedleWorkMonday's 2 Year Anniversary. I proudly carry this tote bag around with me:

Chubby owl stuffed toy

This was my last project in 2019 and it was an entry to a toy making contest. My very first sewed soft toy! I have always wanted to try to sew a soft toy and I finally did it in 2019:

I have to say that I am pretty happy with all that I achieved in 2019, eventhough some were not that successful. I learnt a lot along the way. Here is a quick recap:

I sewed some pouch and tote:

I learnt some knitting and I think my knitting in 2019 was much neater and a little quicker than I have ever knitted before:

I did a number of mending work because it was either mend or never use again. I chose to mend so that they can be used again. And a little googlyeyes in the mix :) :

I sewed some simple garments, nothing like @neumannsalva's projects but I am pretty happy with them:
5.jpg

I crocheted some amigurumis, a bunny entry for Easter contest, donuts for April Fool's contest and a piggy for the year of the pig in 2019:

I love covers and in 2019, I am happy that I sewed 3 sets, all envelope covers and more to come this year because I couldn't get enough of them :D :
8.jpg

I love pouches and crocheted more pouches, added googlyeyes to one :). I tried my hands on tapestry crochet and I quite like it although my stitches are not neat enough yet when changing colours and rows:

This year, I hope to continue to improve on my needlework in general. I like trying different things when my mood permits it and I have no specific plans this year because I am usually an ad-hoc, spontaneous kinda person.

State of the Stash

My yarn and fabric stash, are pretty much the same and didn't decrease much because I bought new ones just as I used some wee bit of old ones :D. It is just so hard to resist! But this year, I need to reorganize my sewing stuffs. Too many things everywhere and I am losing track of what I have.

Non-fiber related things

I am happy that I have cut down on junk food in 2019 and I managed to do some baking. I wrote about this in another post recently.

2020 will be a continuous improvement and learning for me in all that I do, cherishing every second, every minute, every hour and everyday that I have with my family.
I hope to try more new things this year and share them here in this wonderful community on this STEEM platform.

It was fun looking back on all of your wonderful projects! What a great needlework year it was for you!

The ones you chose as your favorites are ones I really enjoyed too!

I’m with ya on the continuous improvement and learning, I feel the same way. I’m looking forward to what you’ll have up your sleeves for 2020! 😃🤩

Thank you @crosheille! It was fun working them though some a little stressful trying to complete them by Mondays and then write about them 😅
But I enjoyed the variety of learning in 2019. So much thanks to you for creating this community! I wouldn’t have had the motivation and inspiration to do that much needlework if it weren’t because of you! Thank you thank you @crosheille! 💗💗💗
Hehe maybe one of the projects this year is to learn how to make sleeves.

I love all of your work! Do you get a lot of people asking you about the NWM bag? The owl is adorable, btw.
State of the stash: lol! I put a moratorium on buying new stash stuff unless I really needed a part for a project that was mostly using-up-stash, so like, if I needed a color of thread or a zipper, but I had the fabric already, that kinda thing. I am slowly working my way through yarn and fabric. Slowly. X3
Also, did you mend the holes WITH the googly eyes? ;)

Thank you!!! 💗💗💗
I don’t but I get curious looks hehe.
I love the owl too. It is so fat! I hope to find time to make more because I have many socks to repurpose their lives hehe.
That is a good strategy. I need to adopt that too. Really need to use up the stash to free my mind from the feeling of being overly cluttered.
Haha i was thinking to but they ran away before I could sew them to the holes.

Those googly eyes, they have feet! ;)
