Bucky Plays @johnjgeddes' poem Come Back - A Musical Inspiration
I truly love the writings of fellow Canadian @johnjgeddes. I have done several musical interpretations of his work since joining Steemit. John provides us with a seemingly endless stream of thought-provoking writings.
Today I have created a piece of music that was inspired by @johnjgeddes' poem "Come Back." https://steemit.com/poetry/@johnjgeddes/come-back
As I began playing around with some themes for this piece I gravitated to some ideas that are shared with Tchaikovsky's "Serenade Melancolique." Here is a recording of another amazing Canadian, Itzhak Perlman performing that wonderful piece.
And here is my piece with has been humbly inspired by these two works.
I take no credit for @johnjgeddes's beautiful work. My music is just a reaction to seeing his work. Much like one would write a poem after viewing the "David" statue or paint an image after coming home from seeing Shakespeare.

that musical interpretation had a very plaintive quality, Bucky, certainly keeping with the mood of the original. I'm honoured to be the inspiration of your improv especially alongside a beautiful piece of Tchaikovsky's. Very touching, my friend.
Thanks John. Your work provides me with an endless source of inspiration. It has gotten to the point that when I need an artistic pick me up I know I can turn to your blog and quickly find something that slides under me and my violin and flicks us both high in the air.
