Last night on MSPwaves radio - and the day before - some insides

in #mspwaves6 years ago

Last night at 02:30 AM CEST @psionic-tremors was on MSPwaves-radio invited by @globocop and @disarrangedjane to Jane's Chaos Show.
This doesn't sound too exciting in the first place ... but let's have a look back on the days and also the hours before the show.

After @globocop saw @psionic-tremors' last post with her song African Sunset he asked me if @psionic-tremors would like to come live on Jane's Chaos Show.
I asked her and the answer was clear:

"No way - my spoken English is not good enough.
And by the way: my songs are also not that good to be promoted on a radio show. There are so many much better musicians on steemit."

I couldn't convince her and asked @globocop to get in contact with her directly. Perhaps he has more luck than me.
And yes, magic @globocop together with @disarrangedjane made the impossible possible - @psionic-tremors agreed to come on the show.

The hours before the show started

What you need to know to understand the curiosity of what follows now, is that @psionic-tremors was a radio moderator herself years ago. She worked for a German radio station in Spain.

On the picture you see her interviewing Álvaro Marichalar, the nephew of the Spanish King.

9 hours before the show starts

"I need Vodka!"

source

"I need Vodka - I'm nervous - there is no way I can do this without a Vodka!"
Well, I recognized my mission: go and get some Vodka.
I jumped into the car and drove to the supermarket in the center of our little town. We have one with a liquor store attached to it. While driving I was wondering why there were so many cordons prepared to put on the roads.
Suddenly I remembered: it was the day of commemoration of the dead. All stores will be closed. Nevertheless, I checked and found out that I was right.
So I drove home again without the so urgently needed Vodka. But it was quite a ride because meanwhile, the cordons were on the roads.

I explained the situation that all stores are closed now and there is no chance to get any Vodka.
The plain reaction was:

"I will find a store that's open!"

That was the moment, I realized we are having a serious situation here. If she finds one that will not be in the vicinity.

7 hours before the show starts

After a while, I was given an address in The Hague. 19.8km from home ... almost 40km riding for a bottle of Vodka ?!?!?
@psionic-tremors' reaction:

"Well, if you think it's too far for a bottle of Vodka, just bring some wine and beer also."

OK - good argument ... I got into the car again.
The positive thing was, that there was almost nobody on the roads because of the commemoration and the roads I needed to get there were not blocked.
When I arrived at the given address, I saw a mini supermarket as big as our living room.
There is no Vodka in Dutch supermarkets !!!
Panic !!! What now ?!?
I remembered: "... just bring some wine and beer also." so I bought a bottle of white wine and a six-pack Hertog Jan beer which btw you should give a try when having the chance.

On my way from the supermarket to the car, I called home to tell the bad news and it was now clear for @psionic-tremors that there would not be any Vodka in the house to get her easily through the show.
In the car, I once again thought about how to get this bloody bottle of Vodka. I wanted to give it a last chance.

What a loser I would be, coming home without a bottle of Vodka.

Google is your best friend I thought and searched on my mobile phone for an open liquor store.
YES, bingo! Only 4.3km from my current position there was a store that was open.

I was kind of released when I said: "One bottle of Smirnoff, please."

6 hours before the show starts

You can imagine the smile on @psionic-tremors' face when she saw the bottle, especially because she did not expect that anymore.
The trip was about 50km but it was worth it - to see that smile on her face.

The next wish came up

"You need to come over to my PC with your laptop."

I said: "It's still 6 hours until the show starts ... and what do you expect from me next to you during the show? I can't do anything while you are having your headphone on, listening and talking to @globocop and @disarrangedjane."

The reaction was clear and simple:

"You need to come over to my PC with your laptop. I won't do that alone."

So I packed my things and moved from the living room to the formerly garage which was rebuilt and now is the room where @psionic-tremors spends a lot of her time.
And I have to admit - it was a good decision. We had a lot of fun together there while listening to and chatting with first @pennsif and his audience and later Jane's Chaos Show.

@globocop and @disarrangedjane were gracious with @psionic-tremors

Short questions, right to the point.
Did the "medicine" help? Actually, yes. The interview was mastered literally almost fluently thanks to the Vodka.

At 03:58 AM I had to say goodbye after a crazy but also very funny evening and morning.

I hope you enjoyed reading.

And how could you not say you were a radio host, psio! Baaad Psio. :D

Glad you made it coming on. Your English is excellent and surely better than my Spanish!

Commemorating the dead? Jeez. The dead are dead. It's not helping them...

OH, one last thing @pundito. Google ain't your friend, certainly not your best... :D

PS://
I bought a gigantic bottle of Vodka 4 weeks ago. It's still sitting in the freezer - unopend. But I do have a glass of wine, or two... That said, one of them yesterday must have been bad.

Thanks for stopping by @globocop!
And yes - you are totally right about Google. See my older posts here and here ... it was ironic ;)

Ha ha I have ...now had my secrets ;) @globocop . I was surprised by myself how the english words just came out ..I guess the vodka really helped ;). I said exactly the same about this commemorating the dead yesterday :)) ...Sorry to hear that you had a bad glas of wine ...@pundito was also not well the whole day....but I was up after 3 hours sleep walking the dogs on a beautiful sunny day.

I got a gallon of Vodka in the freezer. It's been in there for 1.5 months, unopened... :)

How funny!! I couldn't tell at all that vodka was involved! LOL. I'm glad @psionic-tremors decided to come onto the show! @globocop and I had a good time interviewing her. And Globo is right, psi-your English is A-OK! And your music is awesome!!
And, @globocop, is there such a thing as a "bad" glass of wine? :) @pundito That's a long drive for vokda, but you did it for psi, and that's so sweet!

Thank you so much for the compliments @disarrangedjane ! That helps me to become more self-confident :). I'm glad that it wasn't obvious that I had a vodka or two ;) . And yes it was totally sweet from @pundito to make this long drive to get me my remedy against the nervousness....he is such a good guy! Again thank you so much for having me on the show! That was so much fun :)

Thanks to you too for stopping by @disarrangedjane!
Good, you could not tell - so the dose was ok :)
Nice to have YOU on the show again! I hope your ISP will cooperate.

Still trying to figure out what I just read there

It's not THAT difficult, is it?
Which part didn't you understand @crypticat?

It was the pictures that threw me off. I got the impression you drove for miles down a remote laneway to buy booze for someone who will hit you if you don't.

There is a bit irony, sarcasm and exaggeration in the text ;)
But it is really true that I drove about 50km for one bottle of vodka :)
And I can assure you that there is no violence in our house.
Not physical violence - not even with words.
We all hate violence here.

Glad to hear that
