SPOTLIGHT ON THE ARTIST Episode 6

Movement 19 ( @movement19 aka Avian Flew) kicked off this week's show by presenting his tune, No Sleep from The Synestheticaly Pleasing EP. He talked a bit about his travels up and down the East Coast of the U.S. including his stay in Asheville, North Carolina, home of the famous analog synthesizer manufacturer, Moog. His latest DJ efforts include two 'radio' podcasts on two different networks, The Roadblock 🚧 Wednedays, 7pm EDT / 11pm UTC on SMA Radio, and 💉 Flew Shot live on MSP Waves 🌊 Mondays 4PM EDT / 8PM UTC.

Segovia (AKA @elbrujo ) introduced his newest beat tape project, 'Muju Principles', starting with 'Episode 1:' the tune "Endless Path“ inspired by the Japanese anime 'Samurai Champloo', an 2005 anime series that blended the hip-hop culture with Japan's Edo-era. The name 'Muju' comes from the style of fighting a Samurai fighter, a main character of the anime series, uses. Segovia is planning seven tunes in this beat tape, so we've invited him back to present each new track to be released in this beat tape in subsequent episodes of Spotlight On The Artist.

JJ from AtomCollectorRecords (aka @juxtamusic, @atomcollector & @musicvoter) brought us his track "Rise Up" Co-produced with a collaborator from Poland, named "Grand Space Adventure", this work happens to be the most popular he's published on Choon recently. He spoke of how prolific both he and "Grand Space Adventure" are, having completed an album's worth of material in four days. He also spoke of his many community building projects including, MusicVoter and his label, AtomCollectorRecords.com

We were happy to be part of the effort to build Steemit community cohesion between @musicvoter and @msp-waves and @minnowsupport and we look forward to many future episodes of Spotlight On The Artist featuring his works and those of his cohorts on AtomCollectorRecords and the @musicvoter community in general. He finally mentioned his @DLIVE show on Sundays, under the @atomcollector name, where guests present poems and other guests present instrumentals that combine to become songs there on the spot.

Bjorn Niclas Co-Founder of Choon gave us a latest update on Choon's remarkable progress towards the milestones on their Roadmap. He started out speaking of new features, including the ability to see who's curating your music in their playlist.

He mentioned Choon top advisors having insight into the direction cryptocurrency was headed for the summer, foreseeing extreme volatility, thus Choon reversing its decision in July for an Initial Coin Offering of the Choon 'Notes' token, and consequently basing Choon's latest finance round on private equity investors to keep Choon going for the next two years. Typical small investors in cryptocurrency typically hold short term, so the latest private equity round will prevent coin dilution shortly after ICO completion, and win the long term faith of musicians and platform users alike who bring value to the platform and coin itself. Stakeholding features to further encourage the users to think long term, include enhanced networking and user profile features, and interest bearing accounts based on a minimum balance requirement maintained in the wallet.

Citing the Citi GPS: Global Perspectives & Solutions whitepaper, Bjorn spoke of the industry wide support and word on the street Choon is now enjoying, legitimized by this paper, as well as Choon's commitment to this being at least a five year plan. One thing Bjorn mentioned was that a Choon advisor sees the end of exuberance and a time coming when only the blockchain cryptocurrency based companies providing real value propositions, organic growth, and not mere smoke-and-mirror hype, will achieve mass adoption and long term success. Finally Bjorn mentioned mobile apps being a latest Choon value prospect and an embeddable player. Yamaagni ( @yamaagni ) shared a tribute to Mac Miller called, "Listening To Movies With The TV Off" Although YamaAgni's microphone wasn't working, in his tribute to Mac Miller, he mentioned since hearing of Mac Miller's passing, feeling a weird, empty void. We noted that YamaAgni does hip hop as well as ambient music, and we look forward to hearing more of his work in future episodes of Spotlight On The Artist.

Soundwavesphoton ( @soundwavesphoton ) closed our show with "Dust" In his wry sense of humor he claims his wisdom comes from "memes and shitposts". One of his side projects includes Fractal and Psychedelic artwork. We noted how @soundwavesphoton runs the automated playlist called 'Steemix' on the MSPWaves Radio and SMA Radio servers, during the off times for regularly scheduled programming, the Steemix playlist comprising Steem musicians' recordings, and is up to 26 hours long. He recommended checking out his latest contest.
