10 Larger Than Life Facts About Ant-Man (2015)

in #movies7 years ago

Hi movie marauders! Ant-Man was released June 29, 2015, and got an 81% on Rotten Tomatoes. It made $519 million at the box office. This film stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man. I thought Rudd did a great job in the movie, and I really liked the plot. We have also seen Ant-Man in Captain America: Civil War, and he will make an appearance in Avengers: Infinity War (May 4, 2018). The sequel to Ant-Man, Ant-Man And The Wasp is set to release June 6, 2018 (directed again by Peyton Reed). Let's take a look at some fun facts about Ant-Man (2015)!!

1. The Falcon was included in the movie after Paul Rudd and Adam McKay went to see Captain America: Winter Soldier. They loved the character so much that they wanted him in Ant-Man. Kevin Feige (President of Marvel Studios) said it would make perfect sense because The Falcon was living at the new Avengers compound.

2. Originally, Ant-Man was going to be focused on Hank Pym (played by Michael Douglas/the original Ant-Man). This was changed to Scott Lang because Hank developed a personlaity where he abused his girlfriend (this is not family friendly-so he was changed to Scott's mentor).

3. Paul Rudd bought a huge ant farm to see how they interact with each other. He kept it even after shooting for the movie was done.

4. Michael Douglas said that Paul Rudd's Ant-Man costume had to be altered because of the muscles Rudd gained during training for his role.

5. The laser sounds Yellowjacket's suit fires is the same sound as the main gun on an AT-AT in Star Wars (Disney owns both Star Wars and Marvel).

6. Edgar Wright was originally going to direct the movie, but dropped out over creative differences with Disney. A big part of the script he wrote is in the movie. Evangeline Lily (who plays Hope Pym/The Wasp) had a much smaller role in Edgar Wright's script, but she got a more significant role in the final version-Evangeline Lily even gave some ideas and input.

7. To show how small Ant-Man is, the aspect ratio was changed from 2.35:1 (which is most Marvel films' ratio) to 1.85:1.

8. The last scene where Luis tells Scott about a tip, the girl talking to The Falcon references Spider-Man--who made his debut in Captain America: Civil War.

9. Paul Rudd is the 2nd cast member from the TV show Parks And Recreation to be a lead role in the MCU (the first being Chris Pratt as Star-Lord).

10. During shooting, the clapperboards said "Bigfoot" (instead of Ant-Man) to hide what movie was really being filmed.
