🎬 Must See Horror Movies - part 15 - The Ring

in #movies7 years ago

We have now come to part 15 of GOOD horror movies that you must see, im writing this so you dont have to look long for finding good ones, and dont have to watch 10 bad to find that 1 good, and this will be the final recommendatation for now, If new good horror movies arrive, they will ofcourse be listed as well.

In these blogs I write about the GOOD Horror movies that you simply must see if you like to get a little scare.

The recommended one today is: THE RING

IMDB:
Gives this a rating of 7.1 / 10 which I can agree with, deffinently one worth watching. It had a budget of $48mil and made a gross of $128mil

ROTTEN TOMATOES:
Gives it a score of 71% / 48% so it doesnt look like the audience and the critics agrees on this movie at all with a 23% difference in the score. I however agree with the critics on this movie.

GENRER:
Horror, Mystery.

RELEASE:
The Ring was released in 2002, and is actually still watchable even now 15 years later, it also has a followup from 2005, and a sort of remake in 2017. The Ring features Naomi Watts, who you probably have seen in many other movies like, King Kong and Mulholland Drive. The Second of the ring also features Naomi Watts, and the remake features Johnny Galecki from the big bang theory.

I must admit that I have probably watched The Ring at least a couple of times, and its sequels as well. I think the movie is deffinently worth watching, It is in the creepy genrer more than it is scary, maybe a bit creepyscary if you could say that.
The acting in the movie is good, and it is also very detail oriented just watching that tape is very creepy in itself.
One of the things that I like about The Ring, is the mystery that keeps on from start till end, and all the way looking for answers, it is one of those movies that for the first time keeps you glued due to the storyline.
I can highly recommend watching The Ring, and believe it is a "must see horror movie" due to its story line, If you watch it and like it and maybe want to watch the sequels, well... Lets just say the first one is the best, the others are worth watching tho.

PLOT:
This movie is actually a remake as it is originally from Japan, it follows Rachel (played by Naomi Watts) who is a journalist whom recently lost her niece due to mysterious circumstances, as she tries to dig in on what happend to her niece, she finds a very strange tape, that apparently is cursed, and after watching you will recieve a creepy phone call saying "seven days" meaning you have 7 days left to live. Rachel is eager to find out what this tape is all about, and is running against time.

TRAILER:
For the last time I dont recommend watching horror trailers, too much is revealed, and can spoil the entire movie. If you think you will watch The Ring, then don't watch the trailer for it.
But of course it is your own choise and the trailer is here:

This is deffinently 1 to watch for the horror genrer.

LOVED The Ring (the book is excellent as well, and has some major differences from the movie)! I love horror too and have a few recommendation posts. Following you.

Too jump scary for me!

Really a very good horror movie which is also on my list of the best horror movies and certainly i will add when i make the new list of Best Horror movies from what i've seen (Part 2).I think that this movie is underrated and the rating of 7.1 on imdb is not its value which should be greater than 7.6 , and thanks @bachone for this great post.My rating 8/10.
