🎬 Must See Horror Movies - part 9 - Drag Me To Hell

in #movies7 years ago

Dear steemians, minnows, followers, movie lovers, Horror interested.

We have now come to part 9 of GOOD horror movies that you must see, im writing this so you dont have to look long for finding good ones, and dont have to watch 10 bad to find that 1 good.

Therefore I will here write about the GOOD Horror movies that you simply must see if you like to get a little scare.

The recommended one today is: Drag Me To Hell

IMDB:
The internet movie database users score this with a middle score of 6.6/10 by 165.000 reviews. This score is medicore for IMDB and it normally means that people either gives it a high score, or a 1 star.

ROTTEN TOMATOES:
With a 92% score from critics, and a 62% score from audience, this movies has a rating that makes you wonder a bit. Dont do that just watch it as the critics is right, this is a good horror movie, and deffinently one to watch!

GENRER:
Horror, Thriller.

RELEASE:
Drag Me To Hell is from 2009, which doesnt make it so old that the scare factors are removed, the intense in this movie is still there. The star of this movie is Alison Lohman who gives a good perfermance in this movie, you might have seen her in such movies as Gamer, Big Fish, Matchstick Men. Also Justin Long stars in this movie even tho he normally does comedy. The movie is written and directed by Sam Raimi, who made the Evil Dead movies which i also Highly recommend watching, but as they are now sort of cult movies they are actually more fun than horror.

Drag Me To Hell deserves to be on the must see horror movies list, the story itself is pretty good (i prefeer when there is a meaningfull story, otherwise I could just watch transformers 2 (please explain wtf robot heaven was all about))
This movie keeps the audience following and you actually know whats going on the whole movie, you just dont know what is about to happend, so at no point it will leave you confused, while still keeping the tension and the scare parts alive. I would follow up on the rotten tomatoes critics score, as it deserves to be at that ranking, its a good enjoyable movie.

PLOT:
Drag me to hell follows Christine Brown who is a Loans officer at a bank. Christine is normally the nice girl who is more than helpfull, but as a competitor for a promotion to assistant manager, Christine tries some new things to show that she is strong and not to show weakness in difficult situations, which is where our story starts as one day an old lady comes in who is about to loose her house if she cannot pay the rent, Christine sees no other option than to refuse the old lady if she still wants to run for that promotion, and the old lady puts a curse on Christine, and she starts to realize that this is for real and she is about to be "dragged to hell"

TRAILER:
This trailer actually reveals everything, I sadly watched half of this trailer before watching the movie..
But if you really really want to see the trailer you can, but keep in mind that trailers are filled with spoilers to collect audience, and to make a good trailer they need to put in key features of the movie, so if you have a good memory it can pretty much spoil the movie for you, watch it if you want, but if you intend to see the movie anyways, dont watch the trailer.

This is deffinently 1 to watch for the horror genrer.

Thanks for this list of horror movies . I have already watched two of them (conjuring and insidious) they are not so scary but still enjoyed watching them with my friends at mid night ..and soon will watch rest of them

thanks for reading them :)
conjuring part 2 might tense up a bit more than the first one ;)
it all depends on what type of horror people prefeer, some are affraid of clowns or spiders and freaks out over that.

Watched conjuring 2 also yaa bit scary but not more ..most of my friends are affraid, they even can't listen to horror stories 😂😂

Good recommendation, I must admit that I'm not a big fan of horror movies, but this one I did see, and definitely deserves to be on your list, is pretty good, leaves you with enough material for a good couple of nightmares. Anyways, excellent post, upvoted and followed. I'm new to steemit so I would be incredibly grateful if I could stop by my blog and do the same, have a nice day.

more of a horror-comedy though - I do not think it really qualifies as scary. But worth for a quiet evening.

Id say that depends on how you look at things :) but it is catagorized as a Horror movie, and it surely is worth a watch.

@bachone got you a $1.85 @minnowbooster upgoat, nice!

I am surprised it only got 6.6 on IMDB. I think it is a really good fun horror movie that doesn't rely on jump scares!

I agree :)
Critics on rotten tomatoes agrees with you. Thats a very very high rating!
