Monochrome Monday - Lighthouse at Tarbat Ness, Scotland
This lonely Scottish lighthouse looks out on the Moray Firth and the North Sea. This is one of my older photos taken back when I lived in Scotland. It is the Tarbat Ness lighthouse near Portmahomack, in Easter-Ross. At 53 metres it is the third tallest in Britain. It was build back in 1830 and was designed by Robert Stevenson, the grandfather of the famous author, Robert Louis Stevenson. (Author of Treasure Island, Kidnapped, The Black Arrow, The Master of Ballantrae etc)
This is also a great place for the amateur naturalist. It's a good spot for sea watching (for pelagic birds) and also for early arrivals of migratory birds. I have seen dolphins, an unidentified whale, seals, an otter, hares and rabbits all from this site as well as some interesting plant life and insects.
I hope you enjoy the photo ☺

I like the contrast of the lighthouse.
You mention so many animals there and there is not a single one on the photo (unless it is a riddle) that is it hard to believe they are actually there ;)
They are very small miniature varieties. ☺
Ahhh that's the Scottish secret ;)
