Do Miracles Actually Happen? And Do we Recognize When They Do?

We often hear people say that "this-and-that was a miracle!" Or someone says they need to pull off a miracle in order to accomplish something.

Each of us have a pretty good idea what a miracle is, at least as the concept exists in our own minds.

The above little card — from a box of "quote cards" I was gifted — came across my desk the other day, and set me to thinking about the nature of miracles.

At the White Light Express, we work with the core tenet of "The Power of Positive Focused Intention."

In the course of our 18 years of existence as an Organization, we have witnessed a number of "miracles" — from cancers going into remission to people finding lost relatives to financial "rescues" at the most desperate of moments — or at least events that seemed to be of a miraculous nature.

We witnessed these events (or miracles) because we were paying attention to them. Or, rather, we were focused on the underlying predicament, so when a solution presented itself, we noticed.

The Nature of Miracles

Now, we could ask whether miracles are something that happen autonomously, or whether they are something we make happen?

When I look at the quote on the card in the context of what the White Light Express represents, I'm more inclined to think that we can make miracles happen, rather then they "just happen," spontaneously.

Regardless of whether you're spiritually inclined or not, experience tells us that whatever we tend to focus our energy and attention on is more likely to happen.

And that suggests that miracles are something we can create, rather than just spontaneously fortuitous events.
