#MinnowUprising: Please Don't Swallow Me Up

in #minnowuprising6 years ago (edited)

One of the things that I like about #Steemit is the fact that Steemians are constantly challenging each other. I'm not one to jump on bandwagons, but I've jumped on more bandwagons in the last month than I ever have in my life. Just because.

When I joined Steemit, I had the bright idea to post a daily #crypto curation post that would highlight the top crypto news and the best crypto reads of the day, along with my characteristic snark. Along the way, my employer Blockchain Times reduced the number of daily digests we were doing to just two per week. It didn't disappoint me, but my Steemit crypto digest was based off of that daily news item. So now I just do the crypto digest twice a week.

It didn't take long to fill up the other days with content. There is always something to post about. Meanwhile, I've seen my post earnings rise from nearly $0 to edging closer to 40 to 50 cents on the average.

In addition to crypto digests, I've been posting #poetry and #fiction right from the beginning. My first bandwagon, however, just rode up under me and swept me off my feet. Because of some folks I met in the Military Veterans of Steemit Discord channel, I posted my first Steem Monsters trading card character contest entry. Since then, I've written several more and volunteered to join a team of writers to craft the backstory for an entire element of the game.

Two days ago, I wrote my first Ulog entry, making it my second Steemit bandwagon. And now, I'm hopping on my third bandwagon.

My First MinnowUprising Post

While looking through my feed this morning, I discovered that one of the people I'm following posted about a Minnow Uprising. Awesome! The original Minnow Uprising post is right over here. What a great way to encourage more content.

In the process of preparing this post, I learned about something called MinnowSmith. Well, this is cool. So I thought I'd try it out.

I went to the website and entered my Steemit name, and now I'm mining SBD vicariously through XMR. That's right folks, our friendly engineer is mining #Monero and paying others in SBD to mine it for him, evidently. What a brilliant idea.

I have no idea how I'm ever going to post three times a day, but I'll give it a shot. Don't be surprised if there are days I only post once or twice, but if I can hit three posts on any day, at least someone encouraged me to be more productive. Now, let's get this uprising on the way.

There are so many contests, challenges and things to write about in Steemit!

I do a compilation post of contests that I joined or found every Saturday if you fancy looking for things to join and bandwagon to hahaha.

Ulogs are great and I often use that from time to time. It even has its own condenser which was a fork from busy.org

I'll have to check it out on Saturday. I'm not sure how many more bandwagons I can jump on, but it sure is fun!

Posting through eSteem has it's benefits too! :D

I am doing something similar with a post daily about news. Unfortunately that doesn’t really generate votes so now I am using bidbots.

I haven't used bid bots. I stick mostly to curation trails, which seems to be working to some extent.

I don’t know about curation trails haven’t seen one that I should join

Three posts a day - it's powerful! I try to give out one post per day, and it takes quite a long time))

Yes, I've been posting one long post per day, but if I'm going to do three a day, then at least one--probably two--have to be shorter. The longer posts seem to do better, however.

Thank you for supporting the #minnowuprising initiative. I am providing you an upvote to motivate your commitment to the #Steemit community! As the platform continues to expand, it is imperative that we come together and support each others content. It is a long process to become a minnow here but also a journey well worth taking as the knowledge and learnings achieved are beneficial for our personal growth as well as a step forward to improving our financial position. Please continue supporting the #minnowuprising initiative by posting content as well as curating and upvoting content of others.

I just found you through #steemitbloggers. Already I have a million questions. I want to start with you being a veteran. I love writing with vets. Can you point me to any work on your deployment(s)?

First, @shawnamawna, thanks for reading!

I don't generally write about my deployments, specifically. I do write stuff that is inspired by them, mostly poetry. Here are a few:
