Market Friday my new lunch place
This is a post for Market Friday hosted by @dswigle.
As some of you may read our group had an on again off again plan to be moved from one building to another, well last week the move happenned so I have bene checking out places for lunch inthe new area and came to try the Amish Market on 45th Street, and I think this will be my main stay for work day lunches, and my last day at work this week was Wednesday as I took yesterday and today off i got some shots to share for my Market Friday Post.
They are all Cell Phone photos as the heat Index was close to 100 Degrees when I went to grab my Lunch and it was just to hot for me to be carrying around my camera bag for the walk to the market.
Here I am across the road and there is the Amish Market building, lets head inside.
From the outside photo you may think it’s not that big , but looks can be deceiving, it actually has a lot in the store and doesnt feel as queezed in as some other places., it has such a wide variety of items,cooking supplies and Jams and I think breads down this aisle.
Fresh produce is also available and it all looked so fresh and in good condition to me.
Another aisle of refrigerated Items Eggs, cream cheeses etc etc
They also have a great selection of Cheeses, which can be seen in the shot above
And quite a selection of meats, with the change in our diets we seldom buy meats, and also I doubt i would buy from here to have to take them home on the train, but if I was living in the city I for sure would be tempted by the great selection they have.
But as I said I am going there for lunch so lets get to that
They have plenty of options for Lunch, including this area where you can order sandwiches and such to be made for you, and they also do breakfasts here, I havent tried anything for breakfast from here yet but I think I will check it out next week.
They also have a lunch Buffet which I tried one day, and i must say everything I tried was excellent.
Another shot of the buffet area, now they also have a section where you can order Pizza or flatbreads, which I havent tried yet but they look good, when I get closer to my target weight I may treat myself and try one.
They also have a salad station where you can order a salad as you wish, where they have a variety of baes for the salad and a big selection of items you can add to your salad, thisis what I generally get from there now, I used to enjoy the previous place I used to get my lunch, but I now now I would be happy if I wet back there the food from the Amish Market is so much better in my opinion.
I did not get photo of the Salad or Pizza Stations as they were so crowded by the time i finished my lunch and started taking these photos

howdy JJ! hey that place looks totally amazing. The Amish market we used to go to was the best quality you could get anywhere and of course all organic.
It wasn't labeled as such because the Amish don't want to be in the federal government's program but everyone knows the Amish are organic and I know they are exploding in New York, upstate, with 5 new settlements so that's great news for NYC!

Why is it called Amish Market? Is it for Amish people or is it operated by Amish, or both?
@erikah to be honest I did find out its one of a chain but I couldnt find for sure whether it is owned by the Amish or not
Being on the other end of a planet and seein Amish people only on TV, I had to ask :) Besides, is there any food specific to Amish or any products that are used by them? I know they are rejecting many things.
@erikah I think the main thing that Makes it perhaps be either Amish owned or Amish lifestyle based is the natural foods, non GMO naturally organic grown

Ok. That is to weird because I'm on my way tik b the Amish Store. I've had this planned all week. We are psychically connected today, however, your photos are due to be much better than mine! Glad you found a new place for lunch

Yes! It's a funny coincidence! I took some with my phone but that place was crowded today around the deli. I was trying to get shots in between people walking by.
