Never suffer from writer's block again. Here is an entire month of content ideas that will make sure your followers will stay interested and engaged!

Post Once A Day

When you first start out on SteemIt, everyone gives you the advice to post at least once a day.
By doing so, you create consistency, which is appreciated by your followers.

But having to come up with a new post every day can add a lot of pressure to your SteemIt adventure.

New Ideas

For the first couple of weeks, coming up with a new idea for a post shouldn’t be a problem.

But after a while, it might get harder and harder to come up with something new.

After all, you need to make sure your followers don’t lose interest. This means you have to bring some variation in your post. Posting a report about what you had for breakfast day in day out will eventually bore your followers, and you will lose them.

The Solution

To make sure you never run out of ideas, you can work with a weekly or monthly social media calendar.

Basically, such a calendar is a visual overview of which content to post on every day of the week or month.

If you do a Google search, you’ll find plenty of those social media calendars that will give you hundreds of ideas.

But you don’t even need Google...

I like the concept of idea generation. I am fortunate enough to always have something to say that I think is interesting, but I don't think the idea makes a good or great post, the author does in how they approach the topic. Thanks for sharing.

I agree.
And that’s exactly why I like this calender so much: some ideas are given, but the main part are just techniques you can use to present your idea.

Awesome! It is a challenge to think of where to focus for a next post. I read through Max’s list... great ideas! Thanks for sharing @simplymike.

A lot of people are using a social media calendar. I never did. If it’s not spontanious, than it’s nothing (most of the time).
But I’m actually thinking about conducting an experiment, first by following one, this one or another, and after that creating one.

It’s actually on one of my many mental post-its; I have a social media planner on my planner - lol

You’ve got it all planned out.

I like that it gets me thinking more about a format or a perspective, rather than a specific topic. That’s where Jeff and I get hung up. 🐱

That’s exactly what I said to @lynncoyle1 below:

Still, I think it might be an interesting experience to try it out for a week or so, to see what happens. There are a couple of things on that list that would seldom pop up in my mind. I always think :”tutorial!”, or “list!”, ‘cos those are the things I’m used to. I guess it wouldn’t hurt to make some of the other ways of giving information part of me too, so I can use them/think of them when I need to (creating infographics, for example is fun. But I keep forgetting I could make one for a change, instead of trying to explain with words. If I ‘train’ myself a couple of times, then next time I need to for example explain curation rewards* the idea to create an infographic would come naturally to me and I wouldn’t be stuck writing a 4000-word article no one would understand a word of.)

You and @pretty.dorky ...great minds :)

When it comes to writing, I have never been a planner per-say, because I prefer to be a little spontaneous or I jot down "blog ideas" as I'm reading or wandering around here. Sometimes what seems like a great idea one moment, a few days later, doesn't seem the least bit interesting to me. I just keep adding to an ongoing list but somehow, I rarely go to it. Having said all of that though, I don't post every day, so maybe that's what I should be working on :)

Thanks for Max's list though; it's a good reference point for sure! Hope you're feeling well and enjoying your weekend.

Lol, I have tons of those great ideas on hundreds of lists. And there they stay.
Because I agree with you on the writing: if it is not spontanious, it’s nothing.
I can easily see the difference between the posts I thought I should do, and the ones that just happened. lol

  • ’curation rewards’ was like the worst example ever, since it’s one of the things I know the least of. Why on earth does no one create a decent infographic about it, instead of writing those complicated pieces of text in which I get lost after the 3rd line? - lol

hahaha so true; those are the kind of posts that I begin in earnest, start to skim and then shut'er down haha No clue. So...I'm looking forward to your next post...an infographic!

There! It's been said, written down, and preserved on the block chain forever. No backing out now lol

If I ever get to the point where I get the slightest idea of how it works, I’ll be hurrying to create that infographic :0)

If you’re out of ideas, maybe you shouldn’t post?

A big problem with the content quality here is the fact that people chase the free money so bad, they’ll post whatever shit they can come up with to milk the reward pool.

Content on Facebook, Reddit, etc. is better because people post when they have the inspiration to do so.

Can’t say you are wrong.
But I’m not entirely sure you’re right either...
I agree with the fact that you shouldn’t post if you can only post crap. But I don’t really see how content is better on FB or Reddit because it is ‘inspired’.
Maybe on your FB timeline, but not mine, lol.

Of course, the people that want to have a post out every single day will have lesser days, and I can see there are people who are posting just to post for the rewards (like $0.50). The pressure to post of course has something to do with the crap, but can’t be held responsible for all the crap.

What I like about this calendar is that it offers different perspectives. It’s not really about the idea, but about all the different ways you can use to present the idea. Which in the end - when you are known with all different forms of approach - will make you a better content producer...

Those are some good ideas. I haven't always known what I wanted to write about. Thanks for passing the information along. You rock!

Thanks, but it’s actually @spiritualmax who rocks. I just didn’t know what to write about - lol

I had never heard of such. So, thanks for enlightening me I'm going to check them out because I think it sounds kind of interesting. I doubt that I would use one, for the same reason I don't use Bots. Seems kind of impersonal to me and like you said if it's not spontaneous it's probably nothing. But I also think it's really awesome for you to let people know that it's out there. Thank you for your continued hard work. In America we have a song that says, "no matter if it rains or snows the mail must go through."you make me think of that song. It's a kids song but it's fun to sing. If you get a chance, maybe you can look it up. I hope all is going well for you and your family. And yous are in my prayers. I send you and all of yours my love until we meet again.

I looked up the song, but couldn’t really figure out what you meant.
But thanks ;0)

Anyway, i will probably not use it in the form as it is, nut it’s like i stated in
My comment to @lynncoyle1: all that is handed are different thpes of approach. If I ‘train’ myself in those that are uncommon to me, I’ll in the end have a way bigger arsenal I can use when trying to give people information

Still, I think it might be an interesting experience to try it out for a week or so, to see what happens. There are a couple of things on that list that would seldom pop up in my mind. I find this hard at times to come up with new content - I tend to keep it varied for that reason. I have a word document so that when I have an excess of ideas I can add them to the list and then pick them up when I am struggling for ideas.

I like the calender idea sounds a bit more visually appealing

I have those moments when ideas come to me at warp speed, and than I write them down somewhere, or put a note in my phone. Meanwhile, i have hundreds of those notes and ideas, lol, and still there are times I don’t know what to write.
I might end up using a planner however, because time flies by so quickly here on SteemIt, and sometimes I need to be reminded that I promised to announce a winner, or have to make a payout, or write a curation post.
I am so ‘all-over-the-place’ that it gets frustrating sometimes.
I’ll probably be experimenting with some kind of sociale media calendar some time soon

Yeah I have days like that aswell!

I think the planner would be a great idea I think I may have to try it out aswell - will keep ideas a bit more organised.

I love this! Sometimes it can be hard to think of a new idea, but once you get inspired it can become an amazing post! Thanks for connecting us to this great list of writing prompts.

Truly a 31-day post marathon @spiritualmax has there. I love the fact that he caps it all with a 'thank you' post!

I should probably make one on my 31st day coming in 3 days! 😃

Although generally, and alluding to what @schattenjaeger touches on when he says

If you’re out of ideas, maybe you shouldn’t post?

I prefer taking on ideas that arise spontaneously, inspired say by what i have seen, or read, or if it is an emotion, that i have felt, or witnessed, to planned ideas.

In deed i find planned ideas more cumbersome to write on, and give me too much thinking. A lot of effort, i might say.

In part because they are uninspired. And i'd be writing more as a duty, which probably shouldn't be.

But of course people are different, and not all are really gifted in inspired idea writing. A prompt, according to plan seems to work better for such.

So i guess it yet comes down to what one likes.

I agree. My writing should be spontaneous. If I force it, it won’t work.
But I like the calendar because it doesn’t offer so many ideas, I just see so many writing styles that I never use

Like I said to @lynncoyle1:

It is actually something i could also try, in large part because of the diversity of the ideas, but also because some of the ideas are indeed, the kind i wouldn't have otherwise thought of.

Thanks for sharing this idea. Its a good way for people who are really running out of ideas in daily basis.
Due to the content I wanted to share, usually I will write when the ideas 'speaks'to me :D

I agree. I only write posts when an idea comes to me. But i like that this example of a social media calender basically guves me different perspectives, and other sryles of writing I can use to bring some variation

Yes, because and the end of the day, the contents will actually be coming from your insight of things.

Well said. Couldn’t agree more :0)
