The healing attributes of Violets:
Whenever you feel lonely or not connected to life: Whenever you feel that the one thing that you need more than anything else is simply to be in PEACE: Wear shades of violet, imagine soft violet light all around you or sit quietly by a violet flower.
If there are no violet flowers near by, another way to receive the healing energy of violet, is to simply look at this image and breathe the visual energy of the violets into your own being. Delighting in this Magical Moment of calm and peace.

About my work.
I love being in the natural bushland of Australia: Overlooking or by the ocean, beside or along creek-beds, in dense rainforests or the open dry plains.
Sometimes a song or quote or other ideas/thoughts/words come to me, when I look at the photographs I've take from these wonderlands. Giving form to a short 'poem' to accompany the image.
In my studio I construct small assemblages or arrangements from flowers, weeds and plants combined with other natural materials that I find in the bushland or surrounding urban streets.

I'm so pleased you enjoyed this piece @molometer. Violets, just by the nature of their color are soothing and calming. You'll notice it now, the next time you are sitting by them.
These violets were growing in a friend's backyard, in an area where the 'ornamental' part of the garden starts to merge with the natural bushland. Most likely they were planted there originally and now they wax and wane with the seasons. I've also seen carpets of them growing wild. Yes, my part of Oz is wonderful: In the suburbs, close to pockets of natural bushland and far enough away from the city to be very peaceful.

Violet with green is one of my favorite color combinations. Together they give us a sense of an open heart that can find its peace, regardless of what else is happening in our lives.
Very informative post Alison, thank you. I find the fragrance of violets quite magical. Also the color purple in the form of amethyst was said to prevent intoxication and the gem became very popular during times.

I used to make my own flower essences, (what seems like a life time ago) but then realized my 'purpose' was more to highlight the beauty of the flowers, through imagery, so that others could absorb the healing they bring ~ Visually.
Amethyst is such a beautiful crystal. You mentioning it now has inspired a new 'thought.'
