Potato Beers!

Hang on, stop the bus! Potato beer? Surely not. In all the worlds of madness I have visited I have never come across potato in a beer. I mean, doesn't that mean it's vodka? I have had vodka in beer, that was fun. Kind of, till the next day at least. I don't think I will ever get those stains out though.

Anyway, that's the past and in the past it shall remain!

So what trippy nonsense is this we are faced with? A beer that claims to have potato and spruce tips in it and another that is a milkshake IPA?

Time to get tasting!

That is quite the name. The can is rather jazzy too. Despite the last Beerbliotek beer I tried being a bit naff, I am quite looking forward to this.

Hmm, look at that. It's very pale. A pale gold? In Glasgow we would describe this as peely wally.

Let me pronounce that for you.

Perhaps I should take up a career teaching odd Scottish.

Anyway, the beer!!! It has no head and it looks weak and piss-like. But how does it taste?

Let me translate that. It tasted like lemon washing up liquid with tangerines and a hint of disinfectant.

This is not a good beer in my book. Boo hiss - 3/10 booms and those three only for the funky can and golden promise it once held.

Moving on!!

Heavens above, save me Mr Second beer, save me!

Now that's better, a proper gold, the kind of gold that crowns are made out of. Yellowy and hazy like a cloud made of baby chickens.

Let me get my gums around it.

Raar it's a fine hoppy, bitter but juicy beer. The mango and passion fruit come through with a zesty orange twang before the long hoppy finish kicks in. I like this very much! 8/10 booms!

Well that's a relief. Time to get my jiggy on!!

Cheers everyone!

Thank you for posting your Saturday Beer Review @meesterboom.

Steemians cannot get enough of them.

It appears that knowing what does not pass the Boom test is just as important as what passes the Boom test.....afterall a bit of knowledge is good thing when it comes to libation.

I am assuming it was the 'words' that caught your attention on the first one. hehe ^__^

...splendid illustrations.

Wishing you and yours a lovely weekend.

Cheers!

I think it might have been the words on both but the first especially!! Cheers @bleujay, the failures do seem to be inordinately popular, lol!!

Are they just throwing random leftovers from the fridge in these beers now?

Try our cold chicken and pizza with a hint of pickle juice and I think that was an onion beer!

It's starting to look that way. I wouldn't mind if it was good but that first one was just pap!!

Well, thanks for being a lab rat again and taking one for the team. Though I doubt I can purchase that here, it's still good to know beer with Pine-sol and potatoes isn't something I need to be experimenting with.

I do my best to suffer the indignities of shit beer so that the rest of the steemit doesn't have to. It's a noble task! ;0)

Well... i drink beer with my pizza sometimes... and most of my pizzas have onions and chicken, so i guess that beer would actually save me some time xD

hahahaha awesome, I think this is the second one of these now that I have seen, yes I am late to the meesterboom party, but that is okay, you seem to be the forgiving sort. Although I don't drink alcohol I very much enjoy these posts. And of course the youtube snippets add so much more to them. I remember we were discussing weird foods that we have eaten and didn't like and that we did like. If you ever run out of an idea for post, perhaps you could do a segment with this same format but with food... :) Maybe introduce us to some odd or weird foods that you like or are trying for the first time. :)

That's a very good idea! ALthough I would be tempted to start going all food blog again and that might end in madness! I have a thing with food that I have to show how I make it!

It is a good idea though. If I do it I will credit ya :O)

hahahaha ah yes I forgot that you blogged about spicy food in the beginning. I personally think you should come out of retirement and eat a few weird things on camera for me...but that is just me. :) lol haha awesome credits are always great. lol

Haha, one day perhaps I will!! I dont know if I could get enough weird things in Scotland though!

I won't hold my breath for that day to come, but will be pleasantly surprised if it every does. haha

What were you expecting from a beer that literally tells you that after you drink it you can't undrink it xD

That Scottish accent kills me every time!

I think I've only drunk 3 different brands of beer my whole life... Sagres, super bock and some Spanish beer named Estrella that tasted like piss and garbage liquid... I actually spent the rest of my holidays drinking absinthe and whiskey instead of that piss beer!

Lol, I really like Estrella!! Hahahhahahha, thats funny.

I was hoping that the name referred to other inferior beers! It does look strangely prophetic now though!

You liked estrella really?? Maybe i got a bad one... have you tried sagres and super bock? portuguese beer is so good

I do like it, really! Its a great beer! I have tried both, I think I like Sagres more than Superbock which is a wee bit rougher!

Heheheeh happened to me the same as you! potato? naaaaguara really? que verga es esa? I had never heard it and seeing it well does not look very well hhehheheh.
but thanks to the Boom taster, even if I'm crazy, I'll never try it!
If someone tells me that beer is rich and it is potato, I will say: no thanks
that is not good, I know it from a very good source!

Hehe, I am glad to have been of service. If I can save just one person from it I am a happy man!

Yeah, gracias cariño!

De nada chica!!

I think I'll stick with potato chips, potato focaccia, mashed potatoes and other foods but not drinks.
Me alegra hacerte feliz. hehehe

You are a brave man- no way would I have drunk the first one - potato beer? Poitin with added hops?

It was a strange thing indeed. I was convinced that the chaps who brewed it must have been geniuses and it would be amazing... Alas

I don't think even Idaho microbreweries are crazy enough to try to sell potato beer, and Idaho is pretty potato-crazy. Glad the IPA redeemed the day!

I have never seen a beer with potato before, it had the potential to be either amazing or awful! Lol

Potatoes go with beer in the form of chips alongside greasy food, but not in the brew.

I couldn't put it better myself!

UGH! I was so rooting for the first one! Great name and great brewery name!? It was a sure thing! Surely it would fail?

Alas, we can't rescore things that have scored below 5. The guys at Beerbliotek should really go back and brush up on their books.

I can't help but notice that you didn't score the second one, BRO-cessor?

Goodness me, that's really weird! I had scored it but somewhere along the way the score seems to have dropped off. I have fixed it now bro-hamwich! Thank you!

Perhaps... And this is a long shot, it was the beer?

Nah, that's just daft :0D

Aghast! Heresy! Surely it must be something else!! I have hop a mind to tell you it surely isn't the case!!

I will give you both barrels!!

Potatoes don't belong in beer that's for sure!

That beer looks horrible my luver!

Haar, it surely does!!

Just as well you drank them in that sequence, imagine having the aftetaste of the first one for the rest of the day.
It would make you take up tea.

Not the dreaded tea! That would truly have been awful!
