Solution to the New Years Resolution.

in #life6 years ago

April is that time.

The time when the regulars that regularly workout gear up to compete.

By now, most if not all, of the resolutioners have given up. Which is great news for the regulars. Classes aren't booked to max capacity.

The gym isn't roaming with selfie masters in training.

The weights aren't all taken and, although this is great news for the regular gym junkies.

It's a loss of businesses and they want more. The challenges begin for them to get those none regulars back in the gym. Some pay for members they don't attend, but let's assume for the sake of argument. That those that leave the gym also cancel their membership.

Thus the gyms have the challenge of getting them back. My gym, for example, runs several fitness challenges to encourage, hold accountable, and to reward their members. The April challenge is to run the furthest distance.

Last year winners and the PRIZES!

Like many of the challenges, there are categories. You can sign up for the half, full, or ultra marathon. The miles are tracked during each class. All participates that complete the challenge win a towel and bracelet. The top three runners win medals. You can win up to two medals. One for overall furthest distance and furthest distance in their age group.

It's April again.

I told myself, if I was employed by April then I would sign up.

Then I reviewed my new compensation plan and knew I couldn't make the registration cover charge.

:( Not working for two months sucks!

On the other hand, finally having a consistent income is awesome! So, let's count our blessing. Even though, I won't officially be in the contest. I thought I would still keep track of my miles. I thought I should earn extra points for playing volleyball too. Then, I noticed this post from @heart-to-heart called, Hacks to Help You Win the 100SBD #eatlikeasuperstar Challenge!

It inspired me to double the challenge month with another challenge. Not only will I keep track of my miles, give me extra points for playing volleyball, but also go twenty-two days vegan. This will be great for my health and help fund my Europe. Sounds like a win-win, doesn't it?

Vegan Challenge & Ultramarathon challenge starting Monday the 9th!

Thinking about last year, considering my goals this year, I'm going to give this a go. The vegan challenge is for 22 days. This will be a real challenge for me as I have been craving cheese at just the thought of giving it up. However, I can do anything for 22 days, right?

Will you join me?

Look online for vegan recipes. You have really cool stuff going on. Just dont expect it to taste like meat, just different!

I did like 2 months of eating vegan in summer and it was super easy actually I found.

Also now I guess I still eat vegan 2/3 days a week.

Good resolutions madame!

I really and I mean really love cheese. I'm addicted to it and they are actually addictive product. I think it will not be as hard as I think. At least I am praying it will not.

I think the first thing I took de-veganning was cheese actually :D

Old amsterdam salty cheese....heaven!

Yeay!!! I really look forward to see how the vegan challenge goes for you. I'm so excited about the challenge and what it will bring. I hope you will feel wonderful during and after.
And if you need any help the vegans are not far away. We will all support and help any who decides to give the vegan diet a go :) Just yell and we will answer :)
You go girl!

I miss cheese and chocolate. I will need to plan for this a little better :)

I understand that, cheese is the hardest part since it's addictive. But you can see it as a detox. Your body will get used to it. You can buy chocolate that have 70% or higher cacao amount. Just make sure to look at the ingredients.
Chocolate also stimulates the reward centrum in the brain so it has the similar effect as cheese. It makes it a easier to ditch the cheese.

Yes! This is brilliant, I must search for the reward chocolate :)

Oh dear, vegan for 22 days? I'm sending all my strength, cheese is my kryptonite!

I will need all of that plus some.

Yes, vegan challenge. The book I'm sending you is perfect for your motivation.

I didn't realize bread wasn't vegan. This is going to be a little more challenging then I thought!

Just get bread without milk powder in it. There's plenty of vegan bread. Just read the labels.

So, this morning I noticed that our cereal has the ingredients in Spanish. The brand is Frosted Flakes, why would that section be in Spanish when everything else is in english

Lol. I don't know. That seems very annoying. Watch out for leche. But I think that's the same in Portuguese anyway.

There. is. milk. in EVERYTHING! :) I miss bread.

Tell me about it. It's mega annoying. You can 100% buy vegan bread though. Just stand there and read the ingredients until you find one that doesn't have milk/milk powder in it. Or just buying everything at wholefoods.

Bread is the easiest thing. Most bread is vegan.

Go for it! Think about those animals who won't have to suffer and think about all the sweets you still can eat. It's the easiest diet when you think about all the good it does to you and everyone else!

G, I love you and support your vegan lifestyle, but I can't think of the animals if I'm going to do this for the next 21 days. Stay tune for vegan post coming soon. Surprisingly most of the bread we purchase does have milk.

I’m still going strong on working towards my Resolution. Only one of them was given up a month in when opportunity was no longer worth pursuing.

Good luck on your vegan challenge. That is one thing I never see myself getting into.

Glad to see your still sticking to it!
