Beautiful Perspective
Positive thoughts, forgiveness, good emotions or whatever else one wants to call it, all of it can be achieved by recognizing the inherent beauty of things. Our perspective shapes our emotion, will, and action. To take good actions, one must cultivate good will, emotion, and perspective before anything else.
So one must ask, how can one form good perspective? Recognizing truth is the ultimate good. Hence, the best perspective is one that is in line with the truth.
One may argue that the truth can hurt. The truth can make one feel sad. However, the truth is beautiful. In all its sadness, happiness, love, anger, glory, and humility, the truth remains beautiful. For the truth is that we are all beings created by the One. The source of all creation is the One. The One creates only good. If ones perception is in line with this truth, then they see nothing but beauty.
A beautiful perspective comes easy when one sees the beggar with tattered clothes as a creation of the One.
A beautiful perspective comes easy when one sees the stray dog as a creation of the One.
A beautiful perspective comes easy when one sees their self as a creation of the One.
Once a beautiful perspective is achieved, beautiful actions follow.
This perspective is often times difficult to arrive at and certainly much more difficult to maintain, especially in our mud-slinging, media-oriented world. I do my best to invoke these concepts when I meditate, and try to carry them through the day with me....thanks for the reminder :)
Indeed, you are absolutely correct. One thing i try to implement is to get in the habit of pondering over about things that make me sad or angry. Pondering over their essence and realization that they too, are from God. That helps me sometimes, but definitely not all the time.
Indeed this perspective becomes harder to maintain especially when something impactfully sad happens. You're very welcome!
