Life Series #2: The Tale of the "Hissing" Wife

One day, a man and his wife went fishing in a wooden canoe. When it was noon, they approached a little island and decided to take some rest.

While resting, they found that the island was rich in snails. They were happy. Henceforth, they would come there regularly to pick some snails, sell it, and make some money. That day, they picked about three dozen big snails.

A few hours later, the man and his wife got on their little canoe and paddled towards home. As they went, the man noticed that his wife was hissing irritatingly.

"Why are you hissing?" The man asked his wife.

"I am not hissing" the woman replied.

The man kept quite and the journey continued. Shortly afterwards, the man heard his wife hissing again.

"Stop hissing, woman. Are you mad?" The man thundered.

"I am not hissing." the woman insisted again.

The man became extremely angry. He brought out his gun and shot his wife dead. As the smoke from the gun settled, the man noticed that he could still hear the hiss. Definitely, it was not his dead wife this time.

The man calmly listened to the direction from which the hiss was coming. It was then he realized that the hiss was coming from the snails they had picked on the island.

The man became very sorry for his actions. He had learnt a bitter lesson, to always investigate a matter properly before jumping into conclusion. He placed the shot gun on his own head and pulled the trigger.
