TEMPLE THOUGHTS -Who We Are - Genesis 24

In Genesis 24, When Abraham was very old he made his most senior servant swear that he would not get a wife for Isaac from the Canaan tribes. When the servant suggested taking Isaac back to Abrahams people, he sharply told him No. There is no going back.
You probably have been in situations, when folks do stuff to you that they would not dare to attempt before you gave your heart to the Lord. At such times, one would have wished to suspend the faith for a while and fight with old weapons.
I was very sharp mouthed before I put off the old man, and there was a tendency to want to put him back on when confronted by sharp mouthed people. On many occasions I walk away from such points of conflict with a boiling heart and a longing for the days of old. Then the Lord delivered me through Hebrews, 11.15. It was a sharp voice in my heart " if you long for your past, satan will give you an opportunity to go back ".
I've since realized that our carnal weapons can not fight the battles of this spiritual walk. I don't know what weapons were in your carnal arsenal, were you sharp mouthed like me, a good fighter, etc, don't think of them as options when insulted or cheated. The owner of those weapons is dead now. You are a christian and the weapons are different. There is no going back.
Please practice with the new weapons of patience, perseverance, long suffering and the very effective weapon of love, you will get used to them and you will find them mighty
