Invest in Yourself!
When Warren Buffett was asked what the best investment he ever made was, he said: himself.
The term 'investment' usually brings to mind the stock market, 401ks, real estate, and other traditional forms of investing. It is no accident that our money-conscious world associates the word 'investment' to financial tools and assets intended to increase our bank accounts.
Most definitions of the term investment relate back to money and ways of making income/profit. While it is certainly valuable to be well-versed in the plethora of ways to create a stream of income from various sources, it overlooks what is ultimately the best and most rewarding investment: themselves.
With investments, we are often looking at external options and neglecting internal choices
When weighing your options of where to put your money, it is important to look at ways you can improve your own mental and physical state. Signing up for a gym or enrolling in a yoga class can pay off in ways that are less tangible than the returns from your IRA account, but can be infinitely more valuable.
Compounding interest is often discussed as one of the most powerful tools in the pursuit of financial freedom. This concept can also apply to decisions made at the personal level.
If you start to work out regularly, you will begin to have more energy and stamina in other areas of your life. It's a scientific fact that improving your physical health will carry over to your mental health, and I've personally witnessed this in the last few months.
By investing your time and money into improving your health, you will inevitably receive returns from all areas of your life. Getting off your ass to get moving and work up a sweat is initially challenging, but when you realize that a small investment of your time and energy will dramatically improve your ability to function at a peak level, it starts to become something you crave instead of dread.
Invest in yourself above all else
As I wrote in a post earlier this week, if you aren't growing you're dying. If you aren't improving, you are likely regressing. If you aren't investing in yourself, you are slowly becoming spiritually poor.
The most powerful realization is that the small, daily habits are what lead to the greatest returns in life. And ultimately, it starts with investing in yourself. Set aside a portion of your time and/or money to invest in improving your own state, and the returns will be invaluable.

We neglect to pay attention to ourselves most of the time. We think that are body and soul is incorruptible.
Indeed! Neglect the self and you do so at your own peril.
Our body and soul decay without positive inputs
Thank you for the reminder that not just the money investment, but the time investment, is worth it. I needed that today
