Repeating Patterns Of Wildflowers And The Milky Way (2 Photos)
Yesterday I posted a nice photo of the Milky Way above some camas wildflowers and I received a great comment from @harrynewman. In his comment he stated, "The highlights of the flowers seem to shine in the field just as the stars shine in the sky."
Yes! I totally agree!!! However... I have a couple other shots that are even better examples of the scattered pattern of stars in the sky repeated by the pattern of flowers in Sagehen Meadows.
I'm not sure of the name of these little white wildflowers that look like large Q-tips, but they really did a great job of mimicking the stars in the sky. "Patterns" was one of the compositional elements I spoke about at the Las Vegas Steem Creators Conference recently. The link to part 1 of the conference video can be found on the @hyperfundit page HERE. (Parts 2 and 3 will be coming soon)I think these photos do a great job of showing an example of how using patterns can be one element that can help create a better photograph.
Both of these photos were shot with a similar technique to the photo in yesterday's post. All three photos were shot on the same evening, and all were long exposures where I used a headlamp to light up the foreground. For more about that technique, please read yesterday's post.
Well @harrynewman, this post is for you, I hope you like it!
Question: Which of the two (or three) photos is your favorite? The top vertical photo, the bottom horizontal photo, or is it yesterday's photo?
Thank you for looking and reading!

More great photos Scott! My favourite would be the top virticle because of the more detailed Milky Way :) love em!
Cool, good to know! Glad you love them and thank you again for the post prompt @harrynewman!
Wow!!! I love these shots. They make me want to drive north and find a place without light pollution to lay under the stars.
Thank you @miniinthecity! Out under the stars is a good place to be for sure.
Oh man, it's hard to choose. They are all great photos.
Haha! No problem @choogirl. Thank you!
Absolutely gorgeous contrast of the night sky and the flowers, love it
Thank you Larry! I hope to get more soon... It's that season!
Oh I love these night shots. Very cool Scott. Astrophotography is awesome and one of favorite things. Thanks for more sweet shots.
Thank you @thraellock! Yes, astrophotography is a ton of fun to shoot, even if I'm in "zombie mode" while doing so. So early... Glad you like the photos, cheers!
Wwo, amazing photography
