Beondegi 번데기 (Korean silkworm pupa)

번데기 (aka Korean silkworm pupa) is a traditional Korean delicacy that holds cultural significance in Korean food. These silkworm pupae are a popular street food. You can smell it from far away, as it has a unique aroma. It's also enjoyed as a snack or side dish when drinking alcohol.

To cook 번데기, it is usually boiled or steamed and then seasoned with spices. It's hard to describe the taste and texture of 번데기. It's kinda crunchy? But anyway, I like 번데기 with drinks. 번데기 must have some cultural significance in Korean history because it is also commonly eaten as a snack.
