Bible Verse of the Day #7; Genuine Repentance.
2 Corinthians 7:10
Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.
The basic meaning of repentance is "to turn around"-to make a complete change. It is turning away from evil and turning toward God through faith in Christ(John 14:1, Act 8:2).
True Repentance
True repentance leads to spiritual salvation and a personal relationship with God. Such repentance involves changing our attitudes toward God, admitting our sins, turning from our own ways, submitting to Christ's leadership and beginning to follow God's plans for our lives.
Godly Sorrow ..... Wordly Sorrow
This word(2 Corinthians 7:10) was written by Apostle Paul, identifying two kinds of sorrow here.
(1) There is a genuine sorrow for offenses against God that leads to repentance (i'e., a change of heart that causes one to turn from sin and submit to God.) This type of repentance leads to spiritual salvation and a renewed relationship with God. For God, turning from sin and showing faith in Christ are human responsibilities in salvation.
(2) In contrast, those who refuse to admit and turn from their own ways often become sorry only for the consequences of their sin. This insincere sorrow results in hardened heart that resist the Holy Spirit and, in the end, leads to eternal death and judgement(Matthew 13:42).
If we are repenting of our sin, then it should be done with all sincerity to man and most especially to God. We can not deceive anyone but ourselves. We should not allow satan to take hold of the situation of insincerity repentance which can leads to a great and painful regret at the end of the time.
Jesus is calling you to repentance and it is left to you to decide what to do; whether to be on the right or wrong side.

Thanks for the self reflection of repentance. I have a hard time turning away from my ways, especially hard when you have those around you who don't value a personal relationship with our lord. Amen sister
