# The Attributes of God. Part One. Unique Attribute of God (vii)
Leviticus 11:44-45
For I am the Lord your God. You shall therefore consecrate yourselves, and you shall be holy; for I am holy. Neither shall you defile yourselves with any creeping thing that creeps on the earth. 45 For I am the Lord who brings you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God. You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.
God Is Perfect And Holy
This means He is pure and complete in character, totally without sin and absolutely right in everything he thinks and does.
It also means that He is separated from all evil. Adan and Eve were created without sin (Genesis 1:31); but because of their free will (which is part of God's creation allowing people to choose whether to love and follow Him), they had the ability to sin. God, however, cannot sin (2 Timothy 2:13, Titus 1:2, Hebrew 6:18).
“God is not a man, that He should lie,
Nor a son of man, that He should repent.
Has He said, and will He not do?
Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? Numbers 23:19
His holiness also includes His complete dedication to carrying out His plans and purposes-always for the highest good of humankind.
