Haghia Sophia rappresenta, in tutta la sua magnificenza, praticamente tutta la storia di Istanbul.
Dapprima cattedrale bizantina, successivamente convertita in Moschea dopo la conquista ottomana, è stata trasformata in museo nel 1934.

Al suo interno convivono antichissimi mosaici dell'epoca cristiana e iscrizioni islamiche, tanto da essere considerata un simbolo di tutta la Turchia.

Con questa foto ho voluto catturare il particolare di una cupola vista attraverso l'apertura di una finestra; la splendida giornata di sole, condita da qualche innocua nuvola ha fatto da contorno allo scenario.

Ai più attenti non sfuggirà la presenza di un gabbiano vicino alla sommità.

Haghia Sophia represents, in all its magnificence, practically the whole history of Istanbul.
First Byzantine cathedral, later converted into a mosque after the Ottoman conquest, it was transformed into a museum in 1934.

Inside there are ancient mosaics of the Christian era and Islamic inscriptions, so as to be considered a symbol of the whole Turkey.

With this photo I wanted to capture the detail of a dome seen through the opening of a window; the beautiful sunny day, seasoned by a few harmless clouds, surrounded the scenery.

The presence of a seagull near the summit will not escape the most attentive.
