"Iran is dangerous", "Muslims might hurt you", "They are Arabs"...
These and other lies and stereotypes followed us all the way to Iran.
This was the only country we were 100% sure we wanted to visit
and it was our favorite country so far...

My girlfriend @Kamile in Zanjan, Iran.

First of all, Iranians are NOT ARABS, they are Persians!
Their ancestors conquered almost entire known world back in the day.
By the way, Persians were the first to maintain a charter for human rights in 539 B.C.

Why did we want to go to Iran so bad?
It's because we have heard about their immense hospitality.
Iranians believe that guests are friends of God.

This video was taken during our first week in Iran. We hitchhiked from Trabzon (Turkey)
to Tabriz and then started traveling by bus, because public transport is extremely cheap there.
In one month of traveling across all Iran, we spent only 4 nights at hotels.
It's because Couchsurfing.com was popular there and people, in general, were very friendly.
Lot's of them invited us for lunch, dinner or just to stay at their place for a day or two.

This video is about Mehdi we contacted on Couchsurfing and about our trip to the North of Iran.
Northern Iran is so different compared to other regions. It's green and prosperous.
All the other guys were Mehdi's friends and a couple of other travelers from Kuwait and Switzerland.
The guy from Switzerland was surprised to see that Northern Iran is so similar to his motherland.
He expected only dead mountains and deserts...
