Dr. The Leaping Koala_ my journey in life # 8_ Why The Leaping Koala?

in #introduceyourself7 years ago (edited)

Several people told me they liked my Steemit username and I am very thankful to them for that.

The reasons I am thankful are:

~1- They were honest, outspoken and they took the time to say it.

It is possible that many more people liked my username but they did't take the time or were not sure if they should say it. It is also possible that only those who told me did, and no one else. I am not hurt by those who didn't like it or didn't say anything, but I am delighted by those who did and I wanted to thank them.

~2- The Leaping Koala is the best metaphor that represents a summary of my life reality.

Maybe you know (or not) that Koalas are known to sleep most of their lives. When they wake up they feed on plants (Eucalyptus plant for example) that are low in nutrients, and are toxic to many other life forms if ingested in high quantities. Nevertheless, courageous Koalas eat loads of this plant as their primary source of nutrients, even though they get little to no energy from it. And whatever energy they get is barely enough to sustain their life and basic needs (feeding and mating) and nothing beyond. That is why they spend most of their life sleeping and they are sedentary or move slowly when they are awake.

Similarly, my life back in Saudi was like that! The teachings of extremest “Wahhabi Muslims” that was fed to us “Saudi people” throughout our lives are so toxic to human psychology that it made us give up on living, especially women. We are constantly controlled by fear, shame and guilt to the point that we have no more energy to think, question or doubt. The toxicity of the teaching induces a state of brain coma, where resistance is limited and life is sustained by mechanical power for the sake of surviving only. Very few people, if any, are aware that they are asleep and trapped inside a social and religious nightmare. Even when I first came to Canada, I was still in a trance state, not yet fully awake. But When I woke up, I knew I wanted to change that type of life and I wanted to change it quickly.

That was when I took my first leap and I will continue leaping forward….

That was when I became THE LEAPING KOALA :D

That is such a beautiful story, was wondering a few times where the name came from, beautiful, i truly like this. Leap up and shine!

I noticed some SBD coming to me, absolutely no need. If you want to do me a favour, choose for the 100% steem power in posting, i am planning to upvote only these kind of posts as i think it's needed to make this platform grow, will post about it one day but i am a lazy poster... Big hug!

Dear Bub, Many thanks for the continuous support and encouragement you give.
Starting in my next post, I will chose the 100% steem power, except those I will do specifically to share SBD with others.
Many thanks for the advice and the big hug.
A big hug back to you :D

I'm so glad you are in the place you are now, and not the one you have come from.....

I am glad too. Thank you for the support :)

  • talking about holly wood the other day prompted me to get out some old photo's , scan them in, an post them. lol
yes, know I was impatient with the post, but yoo might enjoy them

Many thanks for the suggestion. I enjoyed the post ;)

Beautiful! Thank you for sharing your story. When I first saw your username, I thought it was from a child's story book, it sounded sweet but lo and behold, it's your story! Which makes it even better!

And might I add you have wonderful koala-tees (lame, I know..haha). ❤

Hahahah. I love it

"you have wonderful koala-tees"

Thanks my dear :D

Nice to hear the reasons behind the username. It is the controlling aspect of religions that make me reject them. I'm glad you broke away.

Thanks for the encouragement and upvote. I agree with you about rejecting controlling organized religions. I am glad I broke away from it too :)

I'm glad you don't have to live like that anymore. I am Canadian also. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks @wernertek, I am glad as well. Happy to meet you virtually. I am not yet Canadian citizen but I can't wait till it happens.
I sooooo love Canada and feel it is my country more than where I was born :D

I love your username @theleapingkoala and so I came to meet you and here you are explaining why you are the leaping koala. I live in Sydney Australia and apart from at the zoo, I have never actually seen a koala. Beautiful creatures on our beautiful earth ~ They are finding it harder and harder to survive because their diet is so selective and we are taking over more and more of their terraine.

So pleased to hear your story of seeking the freedom to explore your own awakening. Following. 🦋

I am very pleased to meet you as well my dear @allyinspirit. Steemit is such a wonderful place to meet people from all over the world. People that we probably wouldn't have the pleasure to meet and know had we traveled to their country in person.
Thanks for the follow, comments and upvotes. I hope to return the kind gestures to you in the future and hope we grow supporting each other as well as the many other good steemians around us :D

YES. We are all growing all the time. Steemit is a wonderful vehicle for that growth.

Like the 'keys' and 'soul mate' ~ Forget the seeking of financial gain (although this can be gently placed in a corner of your brain somewhere) and just write and share and connect.

I hope you continue enjoying the journey and the connections you are making. 🦋

I hope the same to you too :D <3

Heyhey! Your account is somewhat new so this introduction is a long time coming. This post was nice so I upvoted it and I hope to read more from you in the future!
I know how hard it is as a fresh account so you could give @MinnowPowerUp a go. This service lets you earn up to 30% more steem power than just powering up! It's a subscription based daily upvote bot that draws its power from a delegation pool. I made this post to explain the system in more depth and show how I earn over $1 a day in upvotes.

Hi @kromosoom,
Many thanks for the visit, the upvote and the helpful comment.
I really appreciate your help and support to new minnows.

Love and peace :D

Nice to know that I wasn't the only one who got curious and asked. Another great post... and I love that photo of the koala with the butterfly :)

Actually, thank you very much for asking @seajai. It gave me encouragement to write about it to explain :)
Thanks for your sweet complement as well :D

I'm happy to hear that my comment played a role in you creating this post :)

I'm really digging the positivity

Glad you feel it and thanks for the comment :D
