how I will work in Steemit

I have been here now just over a month. During this time I have mostly just watched and made a vote trade with one other. the votes I get are worth more then the vote I give, which works out an advantage to me. I followed only a few people. most of the posts I see offer no value to me. This does not mean the post has no value, others may gain from posts I do not.

I could possibly comment an opinion on many things which are posted, this would get me flagged tho I expect, due to not agreeing directly with the post. Leading to my growth stumped. I have also noticed some very simplistic things, like, The people the lower levels upvote generally have a higher reputation level then the person voting. ( no names mentioned to protect the guilty and avoid a war on reputation against me ).

Steemit in the majority does appear after a month here, to be a selfish site. The majority of user appear to be of their own goals with disregard to the success of the site the currency and the possibilities it can offer. This conclusion I know has come from a limited amount of time and from limited interaction. I have a few bigger user in my follow list, and I have seen differences in those I follow. I see many people offer opinion on ways to improve your steemit account balance and in general these opinions are true. This is where things begin to get complicated.

A user with a high rep and a high steemit power are nice to follow if their posts get some upvotes and you can jump in at the right time with your upvote. Been a low level user like myself, the upvote given to a post does not repay much and often leads to a 0 return cause my voting power in low. (its a long road you look to travel when new). I have seen some comments that made more sense then the post which get no vote at all.

I have read about engaging with your follower that comment on your post, This shows that you take the time to read and then time to reply to a comment on your post. People feel respected and appreciated for this action you take.
However, the return of an upvote for your comment goes amiss, with many of these users. While it can be respected, that those who post cannot upvote every user who comments. There are comments which are positive and promote the post user. Here I have come to the conclusion, If I follow you Comment on your posts, leave feedback and upvote you. and you do not return a vote (to a small amount of comments I make to your post's) I see no reason to support you back. Even more so if you are advertising your posts in a manner such as to assist others.

I entered the site in the middle of gang wars it seems. I commented on a user post which was about cryptos, from the post I learnt a bit about Elliot waves in the graphs people do for trading, so I commented a thank you said I was learning things and upvoted. For this I was flagged due to the ongoing war and accused of supporting bad content. The actual post provided me with a better understanding of the market trading in general. That is life and the learning curve I guess.

Conclusion. Do not follow others with idle obligation, Follow those with the same interests as yourself, the posts and comments will be ones you have interest in. If you do not agree with a post or comment you may reply to. Make your reply with respect and respect the others point of view. If your comments to posts or other comments which you have upvoted. It might be time to save those upvotes for others who will show appreciation for your time and comment. (do realize here that not every comment you make can be upvoted by the same user)

With saying ll of this I would like to give a shout out to a few people I think all new user can benefit from reading their Material. The 1st I would like to mention is #newbieresteem they also have a discord channel you can converse in and post links to promote your blog. @simplymike Kudos, you invited me to a positive side in Steemit. Through following @simplymike I have also come across @spiritualmax and @davemccoy The posts from these 3 users, I believe will help along new user to the platform, I recommend those users and the #newbieresteem to add to your follow list. I will also add @lahvista to this list. @lahvista is cool user in my opinion.

This make perfect sense in my head, I know what I am trying to say. If you would like me to expand on any part of this blog, Let me know and I will do my best to clarify my position.

Introbot is hosted and managed with donations from @byColeman to help make your journey on Steemit truly rewarding. Your feedback is always welcome so that we may improve this welcome message.
Oh yea, I have upvoted you and followed you. Many blessings from @introbot & @bycoleman

this post is exactly what I spoke about, The selfishness with which some use the platform. The bot gets a higher reward then the post does lol. I can only conclude those who upvote the bot have a vested interest in the success of the bot.

Welcome to steemit!
I am a bot built for the purposes of welcoming new users! You are receiving this message as you have used the #introduceyourself tag! I know that steemit may seem very overwhelming to you right now but don't worry. There's a learning curve to everything so just be patient and you'll be churning out posts and becoming a part of something great in no time!

Also if there are any questions that you may have, then just ask your questions on any of my blog posts and I'll be more than happy to assist you with whatever questions you may have! I will also be creating a basic starting out guide for all minnows and newcomers on my blog so do give it a read as that might help answer many of your questions!

Have fun and I wish you LOADS of success on here! :)

Also. you can call upon originalworks whenever something you post is your own content like this: @originalworks

Regards
@welcome-to-steem

Thank you, I will avail of your @originalworks with future posts and share some of my vote with you posts. I would have a question for you tho. Is @originalworks automated or are posts viewed to determine originality?

I would definitely work on proofreading your articles and making them more concise. You have some interesting ideas here, just needs a bit of polish. Best of luck to you, bro!

Polished and buffed I think, Thank you the feedback. the more I write the more complicated my opinion seems to get lol. While I agree we are all here to try make an extra buck. There are many who are here just for the extra buck, of which I cannot condemn them for. I can dislike that they do not give back to those who promote them tho, through the comments made and upvote given.

welcome & great to see you getting active here! :)

Thank you, the hardest part I feel is finding content to write, most of what I write or will write will be opinion based on morality and ethics.

WOW! I thank you for the compliment. I always appreciate your support and your comments. A lot of people are re-thinking why they are here and, you're right, some are here just for money which is a shame because making a lot of money here takes a lot of work and a lot of money. I'm happy just to meet a lot of new people and share what I do. My advice is always: Enjoy yourself!

You have been sponsored in to @steembasicincome
unsure how long it will take to activate.

I looked at it last night and thought about sponsoring YOU into it. What a coincidence! :)
Thank you! So..... Am I supposed to upvote something daily? or add a tag to my posts or anything in particular?

Not that I know, It's a risk, is the creator of the account going to run off with all the 1 SBD he gets or actually does what he says. If he does, it can work out beneficial over time.
As of now, You have 1 share and I have 1 share. When I sent the 1SBD we both got a share. If I sent to sponsor another, they would get 1 share and I would get another.
I followed but more than that I really don't understand their methods. Seems to be working on posting competitions but then why is a sponsor needed. There are much better ways to provide a basic imcome.

I'm game. I just read their "manifesto" and it sounds like we have to auto upvote them every day. Then they upvote us a certain percentage of the group vote weight. which I don't even understand yet. It all seems very complicated, but we'll see. If it seems like a good thing, I'll buy in and sponsor you for one.

I'm really sorry you got dragged into the flag wars. That was in full swing when I came on board. It scared me to do anything on the platform. I tried to figure out which side was in the "right". Turned out it was neither. So I blocked and muted them and it is a much nicer place now that I don't have to hear about it. I think that all sides on that are making money hand over fist. Well, Have a great evening.

Hey Girl, forgive me for ripping into you here. it is done with the biggest heart I promise.
But stop upvoting for a couple of days, limit yourself to a max of 3 votes per day for a while. Each vote will use a piece of your voting power, starting at 2% of 100% the next vote takes 2% of the remaining 98% of your max vote. This voting power replenish's each day by 20% of your max voting power.
You can see your voting power at this link.

https://steemd.com/@lahvista

Right now, you are at just under 33%, that is 3 days for you to gain back to 93%. Using 3 votes per day will get you back to 100% per day.

Follow @simplymike @davemccoy @spiritualmax they have links to very useful links in their posts. I will dig a couple out of them for you tomorrow. About to hit the pillow here.

DO NOT UPVOTE THIS COMMENT!!!

You just got enrolled :) welcome to @steembasicincome

One more tip. When you do a Blog, before you post unclick that upvote self box. and only upvote the blogs you make that get the higher reward until you are back on track.

I'm addicted! lol I try not to upvote, but, It's really hard. I even have and auto vote bot. Guess I need to revisit that. I guess I'll go do that now. hangs her head and slides over to the vote bot site. lol

Yes get rid of the bot, it will kill your account. remember your vote is like gold, it holds value. Vote only on the good stuff. I like upvotes as much as the next. Posts when talking like we are now. these hold value on a personal level, I get to share with you. You see something new. it's not a community benefit. To me rewarding me with an upvote just for trying to be nice, well been nice holds its own rewards, wear a smile

Okay. I went in and undid all but 2 auto votes. Steemengine and steembasic. I won't be online much tomorrow. That will give it a rest. Time to get back to writing my current novel anyway. She says licking her wounds and and thanking @jan23com for pointing it out.

Well it looks like you have a pretty good grasp on Steemit already. It most definitely seems like a selfish platform. However, as you mentioned there are users who work for the greater good of Steemit and its users. I just shared my very first #newbieresteemday post today. I feel that is a good group of people to get in with and you can tell they care about others. Unfortunately, everywhere we go some people will always be out for their own selfish gain. In the beginning the flag wars were really disappointing to see here on Steemit. After awhile I realized that assholes will be everywhere , as you said though we just have to comment our opinion with respect and it seems to work better. It does make people afraid to comment sometimes though because of the fear of getting flagged. You being one example of that, i'm sorry that you got flagged for something like that.

Something will always go wrong, how we react to what goes wrong makes all the difference. Myself I do not like being flagged for obvious reasons. I will still speak my thoughts where I strongly feel a comment is needed. Where others see a user been flagged for a nonlegitimate reason. I feel the flagger will eventually lose out over time.
Yes, I am meeting what I would say as nicer people, who converse with each other since finding the newbieresteem.

@jan23com, I can truely say you made a very good start here on SteemIt, unlike many others.
SteemIt is a world full of contradictions - it’s nothing different than rhe real world out there. There are money-makers, who only care for themselves, but there’s also an amazing community that is supporting each other.
Just the other day, I read a post that made clear that the best way to survive here is to forget about the money, and enjoy making new connections.
I’ve got the feeling you’re on the right track. Keep up the good work.
And if you have any questions, feel free to ask. There will always be someone that is prepared to help you out :0)

I spent the 1st few weeks mostly just watching, it was a bit boring as I just watched how the interactions went. I gained some knowledge tho. :) One step at a time, you can walk a mile or ten miles. I've taken my first steps.

Hi @jan23com
Ive only been here a week and definately agree with you on the bits i understood. Still struggling with the most basic of jargon and even something as simple as upvoting (or as i still like to call it "liking") seems to complex.
I also have seen and witnessed real bad feeling about bots which i wont be using, largely because im still struggling with learning how all.this works. And im an old school kind of person and i am here to practice writing and have an opinion as too many people on facebook know me and so i am censoring myself regarding opinions and observations of the communities i live in.
I too am grateful for the support and i agree with you to find the people you genuinely are interested in
@simplymike encouraged me to the new user area and discord which is my next port of call.
Im not even concerning myself with steem power tokens money etc because it will just annoy me as i know how much time and effort I put into my posts and comments and how little the reward is.
I guess steemit is a long term investment..
Good luck to you on yoyr steemit journey and i wish i had half the knowledge you steem to have
I hope it

That’s were a lot of people are mistaking, @beestrong: the rewards are huge!
They just don’t come in $$, but in words of motivation, kindness, support.
Although financially I have only lost money on SteemIt, I have the feeling it has enriched my life in a way money could never do. :0)

And don’t worry about not having the knowledge... SteemIt has a steep learning curve. Just take it one step at a time. Rome wasn’t built in a day :0)

During the first two months, I thought about leaving every day, simply because it was all so overwhelming and so...so much. But you learn by doing, or by asking. Plenty of people willing to help. There are still a lot of things that I don’t get, and maybe never will - lol

My name is the same in Discord, If you see me there, I can talk with you in a DM for a bit and try to explain my mind on some stuff.
