Biography: Daughter of well-known filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and actress Soni Razdan, Alia Bhatt made her smashing acting debut with Karan Johar's directorial venture Student of the Year. The film also marked acting debut of Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra. It turned out to be a hit and Alia was praised for her performance. After her first film itself, many started to compare her with Kareena Kapoor Khan. The young actress then played the lead in Imtiaz Ali's road film highway which co-starred Randeep Hooda. With this film, Alia shed her glam-doll image and proved her versatility as an actor. Though the film wasn't a box office hit, Alia charmed many with her act. Then the pretty lady was seen opposite Arjun Kapoor in 2 States, which got registers jingling at the ticket windows. Once again alia bhatt was praised for her acting skills. The starlet then teamed up with Varun Dhawan for Karan Johar's Humpty Sharma ki Dulhania which was a romantic comedy. Currently, the actress is shooting for Vikas Bahl's directorial venture Shandaar alongside Shahid Kapoor. She has also signed Ayan Mukerj's next opposite Ranbir Kapoor.
