introducemyself: @annie.oakley

in #introduceyourself7 years ago (edited)

Hello! I’m new here and a bit shy, intros aren’t my strong point! But since I'm glad to be joining the community and I’ve got a couple posts under my belt now, it seems like a good time to 'just do it' and share a little about myself.

I was recently in attendance at an unofficial Zerohedge symposium held in Marfa, Texas, where talks were held focusing on ways to exercise greater self-determination and disintermediate some of our systems like food, education, health care, money, and media. It was during the cryptocurrency talk held there that I learned about Steemit!

I’m a red-blooded, liberty minded American interested in truth, finance/economics, law, policy, education, health, nutrition, logic, and Constitutional money. I’m a Christian, a homeschooling mom, a homemaker, and an entrepreneur. Some loony far-lefties would find all sorts of bad Orwellian terms to call someone like me, but really I’m just a simple lady that wants to constructively work towards making the world a better place for my kid and future generations.

Right now I’m working on building a consumer goods start-up. Besides supporting ‘Made in America’ and local economy, I plan to work towards building a community and educational resources geared towards starting a movement to close the trade deficit. We can do it if we try! MAGA! After many struggles, mistakes, and delays (with many more to come I’m sure), soft launch production on my products will finally begin soon - It’s so exciting, but so very stressful!

In my free time, I like to:

  • Research potential means of legal remedy that can help reduce the power of the freedom destroying wicked beastly system-of-things with the hopes that that some semblance of Constitutional order and liberty can be restored in the land of the free. Because, why not?!
  • Research health/nutrition/the body /microbes, especially in search of potential means of treatment for late-stage lyme disease and other infectious diseases, and to better understand and seek out ways to break/reverse self-reinforcing negative feedback loops that manifest in complex degenerative health disorders.
  • Study the Bible
  • Read books on finance, history, and self-improvement
  • Read Zerohedge and r/The_Donald (shoutout to any fellow centipedes)

I look forward to exploring more of the content you all have been sharing here!

Hi Annie, welcome to Steemit. I am sure you will love it here.

When I arrived on Steemit a few weeks ago I was very confused how this all works. I read through hundreds of articles about the dynamics of Steemit and finally wrote this The Ultimate Guide for Steemit Beginners: Money, Posts, Design, Topics, Bots, Behaviour, Community and Apps. I wrote it for YOU. Normally I wouldn't post my links into others comments unasked. But the massive positive feedback from my readers made it my mission to help newcomers finding this post quickly. Feel free to ask any questions. I will try to answer them all. I apologize if you are not interested in this and I will not further disturb you.

Welcome to the steemit community. No worries, the way you wrote this blog, I don't think being shy will affect you. Looking forward to your blogs. Followed :)

Welcome to STEEMit, where socialists and capitalist play together and try not to ban each other.

We could use more articles on freedom and politics, if you are game.

100%

Cooperative Agorism going forward. Taking action together we make the world a better place.

Please feel welcome @annie.oakley, make the best of it!

@annie.oakley your welcome, the good future you wish to have for your kids will come. Just work hard. I wish you success.

Welcome to steemit, Annie!

LOVED your introduction. Thanks for finally taking the time and sharing that with all of us here. I can tell you have a true genuine desire to help build your community up, starting with your own family of course. NOTHING wrong with anything that you said (christian, homeschooler, homemaker), in fact I think it is something to be proud of.

I just wanted to wish you the best on your journey here! See you around!

Thank you Paul :) I am proud indeed! Sometimes it's easy for folks to forget that while none of us got a say into the circumstances under which we were born, each of us has the power to determine who we are, who we become - if someone is dissatisfied with anything about themselves or their life, they ought to do something about it! I've been on a long never-ending journey to 'curate' the person that I am.

One of the things I'm most looking forward to as a new community member here on Steemit is learning more about cryptocurrencies from folks who are much better versed in the matter than I am. See you around!

Curious question:
What do you study in the Bible?

All things, but almost always with this question held in my mind while reading: How can I live more in accordance with the Word of God to the benefit of myself, my family, those around me, the people of my nation, and the people of the world at large? I was acting in some measure of disobedience for far too long and was paying a heavy price for it; studying has helped me become more like the person I want to be, and has brought much joy to my life.

I think I'd like to re-marry some day, so a particular area of interest more recently has been seeking Wisdom in the Word that can help me set a good standard through which to assess a potential future husband, as well as studying Biblical gender roles so that I can become a good wife and a better mother.

Are there some standards which a woman has to meet to be a good wife?

Yes absolutely, there are standards of character and values that one needs to be a good wife; equally important is the practice of self-accountability and the capacity to manifest that character and values in your actions, words, and thoughts/beliefs.

If I believed that standards of being a good spouse should only be applied to men, that would exemplify being too sub-standard either in my character or values, or too sub-standard in my excercise of self-responsibility to hold myself to those things, to be a good wife.

Hmmm..
Please watch this and listen to the man with an open mind and tell me what you think about it.

I watched the whole thing and find no disagreement with this man's words.

To clarify, I do not support endeavors to create a culture that is permissive and encouraging of sexual immorality, as I believe the Word is given to us to benefit ourselves; however I also know that no one is sinless, and a church of men has no real say in who is saved by Him, irregardless of how much those men would like to think otherwise.

The Church, the members of the Body of Christ, unified by Spirit, and with Christ as their head, are being called to rise. If enough answer, there will be a great revival of true worship.

Okay. I need to stop you there. You can know whatever you want to know, but sorry, I am not part of any of your sin.
Take care.
Let me know when you meet Jesus.

I feel you may be making some incorrect assumptions about my comment, but in any case, I wish you well.

If your line of query was made with the bad faith intent to find a point of contention through which to issue condemnation against me, I hope that you will find some value in the article I will post tomorrow :)

Welcome to Steem @annie.oakley I have upvoted and sent you a tip

I like your style! I'm a (soon to be) homeschooling, Christian, homemaking mum of three young kids interested in liberty, health and logic too. Less of an entrepreneur though, wish I had more real life practical skills... I also get caught up in all the breastfeeding and no sleep 😉

That is not such a bad problem to have though! I still hope to add a few more someday before I get too old lol :) I am really enjoying reading through your posts.

The forced vaccination problem is becoming unavoidable for people who are unable to homeschool. I'm going to be starting a 'Home School' series on nutrition/health and education soon; I'm planning on covering vaccines in the second post specifically relating to precautionary measures parents can take before vaccinations, such as MTHFR genetic mutation testing and the threat that vaccination after severe or chronic illness presents and how to minimize risk of adverse effects by ensuring glutathione sufficiency before/after the vaccines are administered.

Best of luck in your Steemit endeavors; I look forward to your future posts :)

Hello Annie and welcome =) By the sound of it you should swing by our channel on Steemit.chat sometime. We'd love to see you there!

Thomas, thank you. You have no idea what you have just done... the tide is ever shifting.

I wasn't even introduced to the ideas of anarcho-capitalism until last month in Marfa. The voluntaryism is certainly something that I support but the anarcho-capitalist mold doesn't really fit me. I had never heard of Agorism until your reply. Though that is also not quite a right fit, it's getting closer, and will do much to help me find 'my people'. :)

I suspect I may be something closer to (Agorism+) + Eschatology of Dominion = No Man Left Behind

I will be purchasing a ticket for Tom Woods' startupsocieties.com summit in San Francisco next month. Since you and your blog have been the impetus for that, once the schedule is released, please do reach out to me and let me know if there is anything in particular you might want me to report on.

Best regards :)

That's a very cool reply! =)

It's great to hear you're considering different ideas. Actually, I'm not an Agorist either and it took me a lot of careful thinking to go from classical liberal to even considering government without anyone being born into it.

Cooperative Agorism (kooperativagorism) is different from Agorism. It's first of all a strategy that can be used by any liberty minded person and which doesn't make many of the ideological demands that Konkin put forth when he presented agorism. Cooperative Agorists may still vote, we don't have to work in the black market etc.

You can think of "Cooperative Agorism" as a strategic answer to "Social Democracy". We build voluntary institutions by blockchains, seasteading or whichever other means we find. This in turn causes mainstream society to change over time.

Ah I see, thank you for this clarity as these ideologies are brand new to me. I will look into further information on this 'Cooperative Agorism'. I am not much of a 'labelist', but I do recognize that they can be helpful in facilitating communication and understanding. Cheers :)

Yes and that's exactly why I love labels. =)They are a great way to reference a big chunk of information and spread ideas. But we should remain in control and not get stuck with false sets of beliefs. Cheers =)
